What a superb place to stay! The cottage was perfectly situated, spotlessly clean, and had everything we could need - and more. Not only that, the location is amazing for walking and mountain biking, as well as touring the stunning Borders region. Chris and Willie were the perfect hosts and were always on hand should we need anything - not that we did. One of the best self-catering properties we've ever stayed in and I can't wait to go back!
My wife and I recently enjoyed a stay at River View Cottage. We had a fantastic break. Once we parked up the car on arrival it didn't move until the day we left as there are so many walks on the doorstep. River View is a lovely, bright, spacious and cozy cottage with great views of the surrounding hills. It had everything we needed and breakfast on the decking was a real bonus for September. Willie and Chris were perfect hosts, providing a welcome pack including a homemade cake, and information on the local area. We were very impressed by the efforts and processes they had made to make the cottage Covid secure. We look forward to returning in the near future.
Wowzers! What a place! Stayed here with a couple of friends and we all had the nicest time. The views are breath taking and the place itself is super cosy. Chris and Willie are top notch super hosts. We literally wanted for nothing, the kitchen is well equipped and the power shower was an awesome start to the day. Slept like a log every night. What more could you possibly want? River View is in a perfect location. It literally took me 12 minutes to casually stroll up to the high street and to the edge of town. The local pub is only a 5 mins walk. You’d be a fool not to book this place. Truth be told, we actually fell a little bit in love with River View and the amazingly kind owners. Can’t wait to return!
A fantastic property in a stunning location with all the facilities you could ask for to ensure your holiday is as comfortable as possible. Whether you are going for a family, mountain biking, golfing or rambling break this property will not disapoint. There wasn't a single complaint from any of the people in our mountain biking group with the house being very comfortable even with all six of us staying. Some places advertise for six people but it's an afterthought where as this easily housed all of us and all our gear. The welcome pack was greatly appreciated having some essentials when we arrived and even had some extra goodies that were not expected. The owners made sure that we were well informed throughout the booking process and during the stay helping us with any enquiries that we had and giving us some pointers for the local area. We will definitely be visiting again in the future.
Chris and Willie are thoughtful hosts who made sure we had a pleasant stay at River view. Waking up to the view from their backyard was a delight every morning. I would definitely go back with my friends and family.Rooms: 5/5
Perfect hosts and location for our second stay of more than a week at a time. Everything required was available even with the striped down contents due to covid rules. Perfect location for motorcycle riding in Scotland.
We stayed in River view for 5 nights and I have to say it's the best self catering place I have stayed in. All the wee touches go above what is expected and the views and location are perfect. Fantastic!
