I booked out all the rooms in this boutique hotel for my bridal party for my wedding. We all stayed here the night before the wedding and used the hotel communal spaces for getting hair and make up in the morning. The host was more than helpful and even gave us tea, coffee and cake on arrival. Breakfast was cooked to order meaning the girls could pop into the dining area for breakfast between hair and makeup. And it was delicious! The lounge and conservatory were lovely places to chill with the girls and would be lovely if visiting to sit and have a cup of tea after a walk. The bedrooms were lovely, especially the Yarrow room at the top. Bed was comfy and all rooms have private bathrooms which were lovely and clean. The garden is lovely. I am sure I will bring my Husband back for a weekend break and I would consider booking the place for a large group event again! Thank you for being a part of the best weekend of my life.
Caddon View was a host of my Wedding. Rooms and dinning areas are beautiful. Everything was set up perfectly on the day in the garden. Hosts are lovely people who took great care of all guests. Food was superb. Breakfast was served by lovely ladies in dining room, there was a nice menu, I really liked cheese omlette. Dinner was delicious, we had venison which was cooked to perfection. I highly recommend this place to stay, location is lovely.
Lovely hotel with fantastic friendly hosts who make you feel so welcome with a pot of coffee and scone with jam upon arrival that added that extra little touch. Room clean and spacious and had everything you should need for a short stay. Great breakfast choices with excellent local produce make it extra special. Located just on the edge of the village makes it feel far enough away but close enough to make the local amenities walkable.
Stayed for 2 nights during our trip from Canada. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Breakfast was excellent and good quality especially the full breakfast but there were other breakfast options too. Steve was very helpful all around. We would stay here anytime!!!
Totally charming staff in a cosy b+b. Good sized rooms with everything on hand. Our evening meal was excellent venison in an unrushed atmosphere. We only had an overnight stay during February, but definitely a keeper for a summer break. Bus to Edinburgh stops right by the gate.
Stayed 3 nights in one of the superior rooms. Had a wonderful stay. Great breakfast, but shame there is no evening meals on the nights we stayed as there is little choice in village and based on standard of breakfast evening meal would have been excellent.Rooms: 5/5
We spent a lovely night here. The host was very welcoming, the room was lovely and the breakfast was excellent. What more can you ask? We would have no hesitation in recommending the guest house to any of our friends or family.
It's a nice historic building, comfortable and clean with a lovely freshly cooked breakfast. Only issues I had was a really poor shower in my room and a very dirty remote control for the TV. My room was comfortable and very nicely put together, if a touch small, however just one of me so was perfectly suitable.
Visited for The Festive Afternoon Tea. I lovely experience. Excellent home baked cakes scones sausage rolls mince pies and chocolate log. The trifle was delicious and the choice of Chestnut soup or Mulled wine as a starter was inspired. All this served in a beautiful room in front of a roaring log fire. Amazing and the staff were excellent too
Highly recommended. One of the very best breakfasts I've had in a long time. Poached eggs on a bed of wilted spinach, excellent local bacon and sourdough toast. A perfect combo of great taste, satisfying portion and yet healthy. Bravo! Very nice and efficient welcome from Steve. Bed extremely comfortable. Beautiful room; I stayed in a superior room which I think was Traquair. Bathroom was fine but I think they have nicer options depending on which room you get. Nice easy walk to the high street which has a real mountain biking focus. Some nice cafes and shops. No 1 Peebles Road a very popular cafe and had a nice coffee from it. The Findra shop has great merino wool activewear. Sort of like Icebreaker but better. I was there for the Beyond Borders Cultural Festival and this is very close to the Traquair House location. Practically walking distance.
