I had nice stayed in this hotel. The staff was friendly. Room was cleaned and comfortable. Breakfast has good range of selection. I like the fitness facilities, the gym room is in good size, not overly equipped, there are plenty of space in the room. All of the fitness machines in good working conditions. Water and towels are provided. Although it would be good to have cleaning spray so that users can wipe clean the equipments after used. I would definitely go back again.
This was our second stay at this hotel and both occasions have been first rate. The staff at check in and check out were helpful and friendly. The room was beautifully decorated with all the amenities you could need. It's perfectly located right on the high street but it's also surprisingly quiet. We had breakfast included which came as a nice surprise. I honestly couldn't recommend this hotel enough.
I have to say I was very pleased with stay it was such a lovely room and really nice staff. Design of the room 5* loved the wooden Key!!! Big plus for that as well: Coffee machine, choices of teas, coffees, hot chocolates, full bar - IPA, Wine, water, iron b. 5* We would just leave more than 2 little milks in- as if you would have a coffee then you couldn’t have a tea. Amazing Shampoo, conditioner, shower gels. I forgot to take a picture of the brand which I would love to know! 5* bathroom didn’t have any cotton pads or toothbrush or toothpaste- which we wouldn’t mind or noticed if we wouldn’t forget ours. But in mostly 4stars hotels they have this little “extras” but it wasn’t any big deal. The only minus I would say was on cleaning part- huge dust on pictures above head in bed..it was honestly like a cm so not recently “cleaned” or checked… this couldn’t happened overnight.. we didn’t really want to wipe and clean it to not spread it around as we arrived pretty late in the evening and we’re both asthmatics so it is probably still there now…also our bed sheets were other way around on pillows - which honestly got our attention right away to not know how to make a bed. And conditioner wasn’t filled so I couldn’t use any until I hardly opened the bottle through the bottom of “locked” bottles and got the rest in bottle out. I had to take one star off just because of last cleaning bit. But because this hotel had such a more positives and honestly design of the room took our breath we didn’t and wouldn’t complain to members of the staff about cleaning part. And we would come back as well!
Friendly staff and amazing design in this hotel. I felt that this interior represents the culture and gives a cozy feeling. Room was clean and stylish Also loved the amount of sockets there and especially the wooden key. The only thing I felt lacking of is the proper bath as there was a shower instead. The rest was nice
A really wonderful experience. If you want a busy, city break this hotel is a bit of luxury nestled away in the Dominion arcade. The room was spacious and beautifully decorated, clean and stylish. I would definitely recommend. The staff were fantastic. Rooms: Beautifully decorated, spacious and comfortable bed. Walkability: Right in the centre of Cardiff busy high street. So much to see, so many options to eat out. Perfect for shopping.
First class Hotel, stayed here twice now and I can't wait to book again. Next time I'm eating in Marco Pierre White's restaurant and the top floor though. Reception staff are amazing. Rooms are great. Breakfast was lovely, although, the 'full Welsh' breakfast was a bit on the slim side for a big English man.
Stayed for the rugby & received a comforting Welsh welcome on arrival. The staff were very pleasant and knowledgeable about the area. The room, a single twin, was spacious with a large walk in shower. The decor had touches of traditional Wales. Throws on the beds with embroidery in Welsh was an excellent touch. We used the NCP car park, a 5min walk if that. The car was secure overnight so my concerns were unwarranted. Breakfast, although a vast assortment of pastries, cheeses etc, was on offer, the cooked breakfast was disappointing. Both the traditional and Vegan option. That said, it won't deter us from staying at H.I again.
