Giovanni was brought up in a proudly Italian way: the atmosphere is still that of a family concern, unmistakably Italian right down to the cheeky young waiters and a formidable array of Barolos and Chiantis.

However, Giovanni knows that at the heart of his success lies one very simple and basic ingredient, one to which he owes an enormous debt of gratitude - food.

The expectation was high! The result was low. For top dollar city centre dining, I would rather get a takeaway. Cold veggies, Beef disguised as veal. If your after an authentic Italian experience maybe try somewhere different. Don’t let the celebs fool you.

Excellent food, great service from staff. Reasonable prices. Its in the heart of Cardiff. Funny lively atmosphere. Only one issue is you can feel the draught from the front door if sitting upstairs esp as customers stand with the door open.

Service was excellent. Menu wasn't as varied as other Italian restaurants we've visited,and I found the prices quite steep in comparison to other similar eateries in the area. The pizza and prawn cocktail starters £7.95 each were fairly bland too and mediocre too. We won't be back.

10/10 service is brilliant Mateo was very helpful. Food was amazing pasta tasted delicious best pasta ive ever eaten.  Perfect night just on the high street. Lots of different types of italian wines and food. Fairly good menu

We spend a very nice evening with my girlfriend, food was delicious we had 2 pasta's from menu. Staff was very nice and helpful, 3 waitress were coming to our table and every one of them was able to talk with us. Highly Recommending to visit

This  was my first visit  even though I have been to Cardiff so many times .. a hidden gem in plain sight ...Cosy .. ideal for  a meal with friends .. very welcoming ambiance  & the  staff were very nice. definitely would go there again
