Another great visit, nice relaxed weekend, even though it was -4 ! Flat battery no probs ,one if the staff produced a mini booster charger to get us going . My only gripe is if you have dogs the only way to access the public footpaths is to exit the camp via the road and walk up a short distance . Why can’t there be a gate in the hedgerow that runs along the pub,in footpath for access

I always feel a little guilty about leaving negative reviews, so I'll start with the positives: -The shop is possibly the best I've ever seen on a campsite (and I've spent well over a year of my life living under canvas - I've seen a few!). -Facilities are very nice and clean. -Play area is possibly the best-equipped I've ever seen. Unfortunately, these are outweighed by the negatives: -First warning sign was when the warden who welcomed us told us we ought to 'put the caravan around the edge of the field if you don't want children running round and banging on the walls'. Despite what the brochure said, this was *not* a quiet campsite. There were children running screaming around until nearly 11pm, and then again from about 7am. It was bad enough from inside the caravan, I shudder to think what it would have been like in a tent. -There were several groups of adults having noisy pow-wows until about 2am, making enough noise to warrant being kicked off any other campsite I've ever stayed on. One group had a brazier with 10 ft flames, shooting sparks about 30 ft into the air. Again, I'm really glad we were in a caravan - I'd have been terrified for my tent going up in flames. -The facilities, while well-maintained and clean, were woefully inadequate. For the entire campsite, there were two urinals, three cubicles, and three showers in the gents, and provision in the ladies was similar. A few portaloos were dotted around the place as well, but I'd hardly consider them adequate. In the morning there were large queues snaking out the toilet block and moving very slowly. -Having taken the spot in the field that the warden suggested, we went out for the evening. Upon returning, it appeared that there weren't actually any proper pitches - the caravan had four cars parked all around it, leaving just enough room down the side to open the door. It was unpleasant not even having the space to have our morning eggs sat outside the caravan, and I'm not sure what the fire-safety situation was - I have a feeling there is supposed to be an enforced minimum separation of pitches... After one night we left.

Great campsite. Nice and flat. Good for kids as it has lots of room for ball games and a good play area with skate ramp.
