Visited here a few times for breakfast. The food is what is says on the can. Bacon, sausage, egg ect. Its all cooked nicely, not dried out or over cooked. And let's face it, you dont have to be a Michelin Star chef to make a breakfast. The only criticism I have about the food is the 'chefs special breakfast Yorkshire pudding', which are bloody awful. Tasteless, dry and have the texture of paper. Honestly, do yourself a favour and take them off your menu. Staff here are very nice and smile too, but again, its not difficult to take payment for your food, which is really all they do in a service capacity. The decor/furniture is very clean and tidy, and there is a big free car park too. All in all, its a nice place to visit for a Sunday morning breakfast.
We visited here late on a Saturday night after 8pm. Although it was late, nothing was too much trouble. My husband and I were still offered the same level of service as if we had just walked in at opening time. The lady who took our order was wonderful and very patient with us. Usually at that time of night staff are ready to leave and rushing you out of the door, but not here. We felt very welcomed by all staff who were extremely helpful and polite. For our meal we chose the carvery, which had multiple selections of meat. They had pork, gammon, turkey, beef and lamb with plenty of vegetables to choose from as well as gravy and accompanying sauces. The food was lovely, we both really enjoyed our evening meal. We even found room for dessert as they sounded too delicious not to try. I had the lemon blizzard sundae whilst my husband tried the honeycomb dream sundae. The desserts were even more amazing! The lemon blizzard had dairy ice cream withnmeringue pieces, cream and Sicilian lemon sauce, which I absolutely loved. We had a wonderful night, thanks to everyone working here, excellent customer service goes a long way in making the experience exceptional.
What a great experience we had here tonight! For a busy venue it did not fail on its service or its food, we visited at around 7/8pm on a Sunday and was politely greeted at the door. We was taken to our table and told how to order etc. the lovely Steph then came over to our table and was so genuinely happy and polite to serve us, even after a busy day from working in the industry for many years and especially in a carvery on a Sunday is not always fun! but she didnt let this effect her and was managing all her tables quickly and efficiently! The food was spot on and will be visiting more often…nThanks again to Steph and the chefs for making our tea a good one.
We had absolutely lovely meals and everything was cooked beautifully. Queue was managed well especially for Sunday! However upon getting home and checking the receipt we have all been charged for large roasts and we all had standard size. I feel like our roasts should have been added to the bill at the point of drink ordering to ensure accuracy.
I can not express how amazing the food is . Its an award winning roast dinner . Sarah Barns and Steph are amazing waitresses nothing too much trouble and always friendly. The manager Carol is amazing so welcoming too thanks Formby Toby Carvery for a truly lovely experience , Janet & Mike
