Went to the Cross House Inn for food and drinks with a friend a couple of weeks ago. Nice place with a great atmosphere, and the food was really good! Discovered they host a poker night on Mondays and attended this week. It was a fantastic evening, staff are friendly and helpful especially Matty who organises the event and went out of his way to welcome me. The new manager also turned up in his spare time, and made the effort to introduce himself and have a chat. Highly recommended for a nice meal or a quiet drink, and the poker night is brilliant. I'll definitely back regularly!
After waiting an hour this was a sad state of a roast dinner. I appreciate staff only have prepared food to use but brown congealed cauliflower cheese and dried meat and uncut able broccoli was that disappointing I left my wine . 4 roast 2 glasses of wine 3 soft dinks.nHope you manage to address these problems .
Love this pub! We often come here, but wanted to say thanks for a great night on Thursday. Happened upon the quiz which started at 7pm and had an a brilliant evening. It was a good atmosphere and the staff looked after us well. Definitely worth checking out!
Went for Christmas day meal and initially was going ok apart from not taking any drinks order for ages after saying they will be back shortly. Then serving dessert with no cutlery, had to go and ask as they keep them secured in the back! Christmas pudding was like it was microwaved too long and gone like toffee, had to change it which again took ages. Chock brownie served with custard AND ice cream!! Not the baileys sauce advertised. Then to finish no one came near to ask us and had to go and ask twice. Cant have coffee as machine was temperamental. Eventually got served. 2 1/2 hours for a meal! Very disappointed considering the £71 a head charge. And milk served in a tiny cup that doesn’t pour!! Just why.nnEdit: in response, we booked 5 days before. Your server admitted you didnt picknit up until the day. When you have ask twice because you have been forgotten thats nothing to do with last minute especially as we were the only people eating for nearly an hour. The website/email didnt ask for preorder and either way we had the food that was from a fairly narrow menu and was apparently plentiful.
Went here for the first time last Saturday with family, visiting the area. We all enjoyed our food. My burger was juicy and very tasty. Everyone enjoyed their food. No other Greene King establishment has come close to the taste of the food here and very few pubs have met this level of friendly service and atmosphere we experienced. I would highly recommend this place. Great food, great people
