A party of 7 to celebrate my mothers birthday. Perfect carvery, hot, great selection of fresh veg, hot gravy and full sauce selection. Fabulous dessert selection. Friendly, attentive service and did not feel pressured to leave, as we probably did stay a little too long due to family meet-up! Thank you from us all for a lovely meal and a very enjoyable afternoon. Will definitely recommend and will be back!
Booked in advance. Taken straight to table when we arrived. Friendly table service, drinks order taken straight away. Waiter checked we were ok, gave us time to eat and allowed us time after our meal to look at desserts and order. We go for Sunday dinner regularly to a badgers mount. It’s our favourite Toby carvery by far. Very friendly staff, lovely food, always fresh and lots of choice.

Service was great and it was easy to book a table but the food was a real disappointment. We had the carvery which we have had before in this branch but the quality seems to have gone downhill. Most of the meat we were served was fat and the potatoes were inedible. Sides and veg was ok though some a little underdone. Another thing I was shocked about was that there were no working toilets. Gents was out of order and ladies had 1 toilet open which was blocked and filled to the brim with water. Shockingly dirty and no one was attending to it. Don’t expect to come out to eat and not be able to use the toilet or wash my hands. Based on this visit, I wouldn’t return or recommend I’m afraid. Edit: Thanks for the reply Ben, however the points you raised weren’t really relevant to my experience. I visited yesterday afternoon, not today.
We had a lovely family meal out here, staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was very tasty, plenty of it and a good service. However the link for your online survey does not work via the email you sent me nor on your website!
We arrived 30 minutes before our booking but we’re told to “come back” at 5.45 & we would be seated even though there were more than 5 tables clear & one table did not have anyone sit at it until after our booking time & we had been seated. The chap serving the meat asked the lady in front of me if she was she sure she wanted turkey & not something else as they still had a long time to go with service & were nearly running out of meat so the meat portions were smaller than usual!
Went for dinner with some friends on Tuesday evening, did not disappoint. Always great value for money, especially the way living costs are at the moment. Was made all the nicer by our server Andria, nice to be served by someone that seems to care.
We were warmly welcomed . We were early so we bought our drinks and waited just a few mins before being asked to come to our beautifully prepared table and handed a personalised Christmas Card, nice touch we thought. We were asked if the order they had was what we had ordered for our meal and the starter was duly brought out to us. VERY nice food and couldn't complain about the portion size. The table was cleared and we were given a good amount of time for our starters to be digested before we went to the carvery. I have to say the food was amazingly good. The meats were so tender and plenty offered. The vegetables were so good we all agreed that we could have eaten more. Again we were given a good amount of time for our mains to be digested and then the desserts were brought to us. Now I don't normally eat desserts but they were very moreish and just the right size. During our time at our table were asked a couple of times if everything was to our satisfaction and it was. We didn't feel rushed and the staff were just lovely, all of them. We will certainly be booking again to have our Christmas Dinner at The Toby, Badgers Mount. Thankyou to everyone who gave up their time with family and friends to serve us and make our experience really enjoyable.
Second time visit. really pleased, again. As I said before, it can get noisy but the Toby is a brilliant place to eat if you enjoy a roast dinner. Our son is Vegan and he was happy with his options. Vegetarian options: Although slightly restricted vegan desert menu, the options in the main menu are good and there are plenty of veg options Parking: Parking was easy as there are plenty of spaces. None of the spaces are far from the restaurant entrance.
My grandson and i eat at the Toby fairly often. We have never had a meal that didn't come up to expectation. My daughter and her family live in Maidstone and come to the Toby at Badgers Mount because it is better than theirs. I can't think of anything that needs changing, the staff are cheerful and friendly, the service is well organised and delays in seating are kept to a minimum. As near a perfect dining experience as you can get. Very well done and thank you. Parking: plenty of space and easy access.
