Story

When it comes to roast dinners, we really know our stuff. Every day our chefs lay on a feast of tender, hand-carved meats with all the trimmings – including towering Yorkshire puds, golden roasties with all those lovely little crunchy bits, and plenty of freshly prepared veg, all crowned with proper gravy. So it's no wonder we're Liverpool's favourite carvery restaurant.

Nikki has really made my evening. She's been super attentive, helpful and with a good sense of humour. She made sure everything was okay and we enjoyed her company. The Chinese chef in the carvery section was also very nice as well. Food is great, particularly the roast beef. Also had a honeycomb sundae pudding which ended the meal on a good note. Lovely atmosphere and lovely staff overall.
We went last Sunday, the 7th of April as a family of 3, my husband, myself, and our toddler age 2.5. This was the first time we went to a Toby. Unfortunately, the experience was upsetting. Though the lady at the reception welcomed us with a smile and showed us our table. However, the lady who took our order didn't bother to make eye contact or had a smile. She just was in so much hurry to move away from us. We felt awkward and out of place and so unwelcomed . For some reason, it seemed the two ladies who took orders didn't want us there and were least bothered to ask if we needed anything. We have been to numerous restaurants and never have we felt unwelcomed. Also after we finished our food, we waited for the ladies to get us the bill and they walked past us many times completely ignoring us. While they were all giggles with another family. My husband had to go to the server lady and ask for the bill and she just noded her head and got us the bill which was around 41 quid and just left. I would give a zero for hospitality and it was sad that they made us feel that way. The food was fine to be honest. But I think Toby Aigburth needs better staff who consider all humans as equal and make them feel welcomed.
We decided on a Monday night thinking it was going to be quiet but it was really busy. Unfortunately most of the staff were on a work night out so other teams had been brought in but there wasn’t enough staff for how busy it was. Our waitress was absolutely lovely also, but it was so busy and the restaurant was so short staffed that we waited a good thirty minutes before we even were offered our drinks. And then another 10 mins waiting in que for food. The area we were sat was so hot but again our waitress got us fans. The food was nice and the lady who was slicing the meats on the counter was working overtime as she was on her own but she was doing a really good job! There was no roast potatoes / cracking or famous gravy though… But the staff were busy and I appreciate it’s really hard work when there’s just not enough of you and too many customers. Food was good value £11.79 for two courses but just a bit disappointing in time waited and heat in restaurant…
Visited Toby Carvery Aigburth with my friend and his daughter. We had a fantastic time. The food was delicious, with a good variety of options to choose from, and the drinks were reasonably priced. Jess especially enjoyed her little meal and the ice cream for dessert, which was a nice touch. The staff were friendly and made us feel very welcome. Overall, it was a great experience, and we all left satisfied. I would definitely recommend Toby Carvery Aigburth for a pleasant and enjoyable meal.
Food was delicious, loads of options for vegetarians too. They do a baby bowl for 99p which is basically a bowl of any bits from the veg counter including the Mac and cheese it was perfect for our baby. They also have the good high chairs! Our server Nikki was so friendly and helpful.Food: 5/5
We were served by Natalie, who was friendly and attentive. Also serving tables by us, and equally responsive and couldn't do enough to ensure a high standard service. Quick service. A lot of choice on the meat and sides options more than I've seen at any other Tody Carvery. Those carving kept the line running quickly. Lovely atmosphere and clean :
Really do enjoy this carvery. Go fairly often, be it for both breakfast or carvery, and the quality of the food is always really good. Have been to a few carveries which are pretty poor, including the Toby in Speke just down the road again, been poor for both breakfast and carvery from my experience and this one always impresses.
Very happy with my Breakfast Takeaway. Ordered to celebrate my sisters birthday. Unfortunately my sister could not attend the restaurant. Takeaway was easy to order on the app, good price and food and excellent service. Ready for collection when I arrived to pick it up. Thank You.Food: 5/5
Took my Nan for dinner and Jess was serving us. She made was really friendly and overheard that my nan loves mint sauce - she brought a little bowl to the table. It was a nice touch. The service was great Food: 4/5
Very poor experience, the server sat us at a table where it was leaking water from the roof, which i dont understand why because it was even busy, never offered us drinks till we had nearly finshed our food. When Mentioned about the leak dripping in to our food her first response is that we should of moved if that was the case before apologising after noticing that i was annoyed. Very poor.
