A group of us came for dinner on Saturday and had an absolutely wicked time. Garfield and Darius were lovely and hilarious, and the food was gorgeous. We didn't manage to all get exactly what we ordered but even though they ran out of certain things, the secondary choices were lovely too. Be prepared to spend some time there, this isn't somewhere you'll pop in for a quick bite, but if you have the time and the patience and a decent sense of humour you'll be super glad you came.
I recently visited this restaurant on a client's recommendation. I met the owner and chef, "Garfield," who is originally from Grenada, by the way. I didn't expect such a down-to-earth and friendly personality from someone who is so humble and amusingly self-effacing when receiving compliments. The food was authentic, and as someone familiar with Jamaican cuisine, I can confidently recommend this place to both those who are already familiar with it and those who are yet to experience the joy of the culture. This restaurant has now become a go-to spot and a recommendation for all my Rockfield Guitar Engineering clients, whether they are famous or not. Thank you, Garfield. I'll see you next week. Actually haven't eaten here properly yet as when my wife and I went to eat here last week they had run out of the produce for the day. However, the owner/operator Garfield offered us the last of the jerk chicken and some rum on the house he would not accept my money at all, showed us around, had a lovely chat and then gave us his number so we could call him in advance next time so he could make sure some was left over. Absolutely top guy, the chicken was insanely tasty, can't wait to go back and try the full experience.
Garfield is the true meaning of Iconic. So accommodating, went above and beyond. You feel like your in his home, the best tunes are played while you have the best Caribbean food, he doesn't have all the awards for nothing! The goat, fish and chicken all spectacular. Absolutely treasure of a place and I'm glad his tucked away in this location, makes it even more special. Already booked birthday meal there for 5months in advance, I don't want anywhere else!
Just had the most delicious oxtail meal here! Portion was great value for money and Garfield made the whole experience wonderful with sweet soca music in the background! Place reminded me of a cross between Desmond’s and Death in Paradise! Definitely be back! Food: 5/5

Oh my goodness I love this place!! Not glitzy but dripping with authenticity. I had the best mutton curry I have ever eaten here. My starter of beef and cheese pattie was also delicious. The music was so good, I ate, drank and sang away the night. What a fantastic evening. I will dream of that mutton curry for years to come. Thank you Garfield for a lovely meal and atmosphere. This is worst meal I’ve ever attempted to have, this isn’t authentic Caribbean. I couldn’t eat what I ordered and had to bin pretty much everything. It seemed as if the food was made days prior. The jerk chicken had hardly any flavour and was in a watery brown liquid of something. The rice and peas wasn’t fresh but tasted days old . The Oxtail tasted awful and looked awful too - I have no idea what the hell it was. I’m so livid !!
Tried to get food to eat out on the benches as we did a week ago but was bluntly told no because we bought drinks elsewhere. They don't have any drinks that we like hence why we got drinks around the corner first. I did this last week and recieved a warm reception with no issue so was quite a shock. Abbey Mills promotes a openness to eating and drinking from any establishments on the benches outside as long as you don't bring KFC etc in as stated on signage all over Abbey mills. Support local businesses etc Unfortunately I'll never go back to ting n ting after this. Very disappointing
