We showed up unexpected 8pm Sunday night. The bar lady saw us straight away with a freindly smile. We asked if they had a room and she immediately got Mark the manager who booked us a room. It was a lovely room, spotless, comfy bed, powerful shower and towels provided were nicer than mine at home. Once we checked our room we went back to the bar to get some food and drink. Even though the kitchen was shut they sorted us out food. Breakfast excellent too. Would definitely come back.
Came here for lunch yesterday after a walk in the surrounding country. Seemed like they were short of staff - like most places these days. Food was OK, nothing more. Quite pricey we felt for what we got. Fish and chips looks very dark and one diner said that it tasted burnt. Was returned and replacement meal a lot better. Staff were doing their best, but service was slow. I was last here in the break between lockdowns and food seemed a lot better then.
Lovely place to stop if you are in this neck of the woods. Beautiful room, very quiet and the staff were lovely. And the breakfast was superb. Highly recommendedRooms: 5/5
Stayed here last night was perfect! All of the staff very friendly, polite, warm and welcoming.. arrived late 7pm on a Sunday so couldn’t eat main meal but they did assist in letting us know a place to eat 10minz down the road.. they showed us to our room which again was extremely pleasant, warm, cosy and very clean, hospitality is 10 out of 10 breakfast was included with room booking, and breakfast was also exceptional.. good job kitchen staff.. soft dippy poached eggs next time though not cooked till hard haha.. great place great hospitality great staff. Keep up the good work.guys Fantastic and would most definitely return again.thank you.. for taking us last minute also.
A lovely evening. The food was delicious and the team looked after us so well! Definitely recommend.
Excellent Sunday roast I had the lamb and husband had the beef. Both were delicious. All the staff seemed really freindly too. Will definitely be back.
Took the kids for Sunday dinner. Deliberately booked a table early to allow time to order and eat at a sensible hour for them. We were served drinks but then took over 40 minutes before our food order was taken. Watching others walk in after us but be served before was frustrating. We got sick of waiting and asked someone at the bar. Starters came out in good time. Thank goodness as the kids were starting to get hangry. The main came, the kids pasta and meatballs had an awlful smell and tasted like dirty water. Thankfully we asked for some chips which came out very pale ,luke warm but prompt. Husband and and myself both had roasts, one lamb and one beef. Both meat very over cooked and strange steak like sizes. 'Jus' was glumpy and slimey, potatoes and pasnips undercooked. Best thing on the plate was carrots. Photos looked good online but the nice plates do not make up for lack of service and poor food. I asked for the bill and saw that service charge was included , which instantly annoys me, if its good I'm going to pay more but if its not good don't shame me in asking to have it removed. Thankfully I was handed the card machine with no value and I had to ask what I needed to enter... I paid the bill, no tip and scarpered as quick as possible. We will be reluctant to return. The guitarist was good and the reason for our visit , the poor chap bearly got a good bye or thanks from the bar staff as he left. Very unwelcoming.
Fantastic vegan options! The mushroom kebab is other-worldly, quite salty with an amazing texture and taste. The smoked tofu, likewise, is absolutely fabulous. Good Kentish drinks available, and plenty of space and service on a Saturday. Will definitely come again! Didn't try any of the mains, but they looked to be just as good. I suppose the only downside is that they only serve food at the front, next to the b road, or inside, but not in the nice garden out the back. Still, I'd definitely come again
Excellent food, lovely staff and fantastic rooms.
Very friendly and welcoming staff...we had the festive meal which was perfect and very tasty..a must if you enjoy good food...Service: 5/5
