Great little characterful pub/restaurant out in the country. Best to book as it’s very popular. Have eaten here a few times now and it’s been a good venue for family and friends gatherings. Good selection of food and some daily specials. Sizzle platter is good as are the pub classics. Good selection of real ales.
Just showing up we managed to bag the much-coveted comfy sofas by the fire. This place has bags of character, nice beers on tap and in the bottle. Friendly staff. Very busy so best to book to eat at peak times.
Great atmosphere, small but very friendly pub/restaurant. Staff amazing, food excellent, good value. All in all amazing experience will definitely be back. Oh and there was 10 of us, the chef even made homemade chicken nuggets for the children. Nothing too much trouble.

Friday lunchtime, booked table for four. Very busy, but quick, efficient and friendly service. Food was delicious, with good sized portions and sensible prices. Comfortable and clean. Thoroughly recommended.
Visited in August 2019, so apologies for the late review. As I was staying away from home working evening shifts I couldn't stay and enjoy the atmosphere and the food for as long as I would have liked, but will certainly be returning if I'm ever in the area again. The staff were incredibly polite, welcoming and friendly. I was given some tasty complimentary bread and butter, which I very happily gobbled down. The curry was a special of the day and was absolutely delicious! The meat was generous not gristly and full of fat but melted in the mouth and it was well-spiced, with a nice heat and plenty of flavour. The poppadom was crisp and the rice fluffy. Quite happily finished the lot.
Our visit to the pepperbox inn is our monthly treat . The inn has a lovely relaxed atmosphere with staff who are professional and attentive . The roaring fire is wonderful in the bar area . The menu is balanced with different choices for all tastes all excellently cooked with the specials board making choice very difficult . The inn is a must visit , highly recommended.
Beautiful old country pub, had a reasonably priced Sunday roast that was excellent quality. The open fire was such a lovely welcome. Definitely recommend.
Lovely little place, a great find for lunch today with the family. Loved the warmth of the fire and the food was excellent. We will definitely return.
