Went for lunch and wasn't disappointed! The food is excellent! There was a few options unavailable as they had a busy new year but still enough options to choose from. I started with the aubergine rolls which were delicious then the sweet potato burger. I'm not usually a huge fan of burgers that are made of vegetables but this was spot on. Full of flavour, fresh, homemade and the homemade chips and onion rings were perfect. My partner had the pate which he said was perfect in flavour, then the Welsh lamb steaks and said the dish was perfectly balanced with flavours, nothing was over powering other parts of the dish. Will definitely return for more culinary treats! Thanks for a fab lunch
This was are favourite pub/restaurant during our stay in Bishops Castle. We ate here twice. Both times the food was delicious and the service excellent. The staff are very friendly and welcoming - the best we experienced during our stay. You feel well looked after. Even when busy the service is efficient. The beers are very good and incredible value - probably helps that they are brewed on site. £3.35 for a pint.
This is the 2nd time we have been here while visiting the lovely Shropshire border between England and Wales. It is a nice place to sit in and does have a comfy feel. The bar staff have strange vibes but the young girls are nice enough, maybe a bit awkward. The menu is okay but not an amazing choice but the food portions are big maybe a bit too big and the food is tastey enough. My starter of the fish Goujans was really nice. I enjoyed them the most. I had the Pork Belly which was tasty enough , fresh veg, bit crunchy which I personally quite like but some might not. The mash was very nice and the pork belly was decent apart from the crackling was so tough and you couldn't eat it at all . Literally so chewy it would break your teeth. I like the crackling but had to leave it. We was stuffed so it wasn't a bad meal..we enjoyed it. It was a nice pub meal. On the pricey side which you would expect. When we paid the maybe owner come over and took our payment , he had a really off vibe. He didn't really speak to us , he just walked up gave us the card machine and didn't say thanks or anything. He just walked away and didn't give us the receipt or even ask if we wanted it. He seemed off with us and not friendly at all. An okay place to eat but left with a weird feeling from the staff. Not sure if we will be back Heres a photo of my starter which was great
I believe this to be the brewery tap for Three Tuns brewery. You can have a beer watching the comings and goings in the old brewery building. The excellent real ale was my main attraction as they serve Clerics Cure ,XXX and their other brews. Still applying strict covid precautions so it was table service. Staff were friendly helpful and attentive. A real character of a pub in a village that also has charm and character. The menu offered a good range of choices you can check this online Fantastic quality and value. It's the sort of pub where you can enjoy great beer knowing the missus is also happy.
Beautiful old building, friendly staff, and excellent real ale. Parking is not the most convenient.
Lovely friendly atmosphere, dog friendly we had our dog with us and the food.... Wow. It's not the cheapest, but you're buying quality. Service was a tad slow, but we were warned when we got there it would be so absolutely no complaints there either. I had the lamb steak and it was perfect, no other word. If you're in the area, I highly recommend it.
Love the Three Tuns, great pub. The Solstice is one of my all time favourite beers. Friendly service, always feel welcome. Don't miss it if you're passing Bishop's Castle
We went for dinner as a group of 10 and were disappointed with the service. The food was good on the whole, with good size portions but the poor girls serving were run off their feet which meant we had to keep asking for things. The restaurant area was also really cold. The bar manager was really rude and when we went up to pay our bill he was really dismissive, and shook his head when we didn't add the tip onto the bill. We had left a cash tip on the table but felt like taking it away
“Excellent” was the verdict of my 90 year old father today. And he knows. Lovely two course meal. Two fires in the place. Great beer and lunch. Jack was the wonderful barman and he undertook to pass on our thanks to the chef. Couldn’t fault the place. We will be back!
Beautiful pub, friendly staff, superb food and beer. We came for a birthday meal 14 of us we had food from the regular menu and Sunday roasts, all meals were beautifully presented, good quality and tasty. Highly recommended.
