We walked to The Three Magpies from the Holiday Inn and were very happy that we did. The place has a cozy, romantic vibe and the food is excellent. My husband’s beef and ale pie was so tasty I wished I’d ordered it instead, but my chicken tikka masala demands an honorable mention too. Friendly staff. A lovely last evening before returning home. Adios 3 Magpies, Adieu England’s green and pleasant lands.
Surprisingly busy for a night with storm Arwen. We were camping next door for the weekend. Booked in advance with our two dogs. We were made very welcome. I had a venison special, the other half had a 'small' portion of the sausage and mash. Plenty all round and I thought good value. Sorry the photos are incomplete but we both attacked before we thought of taking piccies
After having such a lovely experience in the beer garden on Tuesday evening, we decided to take my family here for lunch today. We booked a table indoors as rain was forecast. As on Tuesday evening, the service was first rate, as was the food. I had the fish and chips and it was just delicious. The sticky toffee pudding was rather nice too. Plenty of toffee sauce and custard too. Will definitely return.
Booked a couple of evening meals here whilst staying in the area. The staff were so welcoming & friendly. The food was freshly cooked, hot & absolutely delicious. Very efficient service. Great menu and a specials board. Try out the butcher's board meal, it's amazing! Would definitely recommend.
Whilst staying at the nearby Devizes campsite. We visit the pub for an evening meal. we all ordered different meals and we all said how much we enjoyed them. Service was good also. Definitely recommend.
A fantastic friendly local pub with a great atmosphere. Beer was good, food fab and staff were so friendly & dogs allowed. Highly recommended.
Popped in for Sunday roasts, all good! The food was good and the service was so warm and friendly. I would thoroughly recommend eating out here! Nice surroundings and great beer.
Really great pub, food and staff. Stayed for 3 nights in their campsite, which is basic but good. Toilet/shower and facilities all OK. Staff in pub are friendly and welcoming. Menu is good, food is good, so is service. Will definately be using the camp site and pub again. Keep up the good work!
Stopped here on a very busy Easter Sunday. We had been turned away from a previous place, even though we had said that we were walking from Bradford on Avon to Devises and if they were too busy , could they just provide sandwiches.we were told no in no uncertain terms!... Not so at The Three Magpies! The welcome was warm and we sat and ate a hearty Sunday Dinner in the lovely garden! Lovely staff, tasty drinks, fabulous food!
Staying for a few days in the Camping & Caravan Club site nearby, we dropped in on New Year's Eve for a pint and a meal. What a brilliant decision. Lovely staff, warm welcome, great cooking, and a positive and genuinely cheerful professional vibe. We had called ahead and already knew that all the tables were reserved, but we were totally happy to sit and eat at the bar. As soon as an opening appeared we were moved to a table ... how good! And each dish was a real pleasure - cooked to perfection and served attractively. Good price-points, too. We'd definitely go again and fully recommend this excellent pub. Happy New Year, team, and thank you!
