What a lovely setting the Barge Inn is in the quiet village of Seend Cleeve. It is situated on the Kennet and Avon canal,here you can receive a warm welcome from your hosts where you can choose to eat in or outside as there is a large marquee with heating in place and plenty of seating. There is a large car park . It is disable friendly staff are very friendly also,on Sunday it is best to book a table especially if you choose to eat indoors. The Barge Inn also welcomes dogs and well behaved owners. You can book for special occasions here also.
Love this pub. Camp up along the canal path about a mile or so and when we do we come here often. Last summer sat out admired the canal, and recently inside. Dog friendly, friendly staff, some going over and above, long dark haired young girl called Tiana served us, very good at her job! Food good real ale even better!
Sat outside under their canopy beside the canal and enjoyed an excellent 6X and two meals. I went for small ham, egg and chips with spicy pineapple chutney and my other half went for the pie. Both excellent and provided speedily. Service was very friendly and efficient from their young team if workers on a Wednesday lunchtime. Perfect location for a lovely summer lunch.
Very Lovely pub/Restaurant on the River. Provides a lovely choice of meals and desserts. It has a really nice outside Space and plenty of parking.
Such a beautiful setting. The staff were very welcoming and attentive. Food was absolutely lovely We visited for lunch and portion size was good. We ordered mac and cheese for the little one too, it was such a big portion she didn't even make a dent in it really. We will definitely visit again for a main evening meal as the food did look and smell incredible.
We have holidayed every year along the canal for five years now. Our first year luckily meant we chose the mooring near the Barge Inn where we could top up with water, get rid of our rubbish and have some grub. What can we say, from our first visit to the Barge Inn and every year since, at times including other family members who have joined us on the boat holiday, we have all ALWAYS had fantastic service and great food. I have to say this year was probably the best ever and that is not degrading to the teams from previous years. Well done guys. We shall see you next week on our return journey.
Excellent service, great food and a beautiful spot beside the canal with plenty of seating indoors, outdoors and under cover all weather - sun and rain protected.
A very popular Wadsworth Inn situated by the Kennet and Avon Canal. A large car park onsite and Disabled Access is ok. Staff all attentive and polite. Food of a good quality so well worth a visit.
Excellent service, original menu. Wadworth beer very good. Lovely location. Worth a trip.
A nice walk along the canal from the camping and caravan site to the barge. A warm welcome from friendly and helpful staff. Excellent beer and drinks, very enjoyable and well prepared food, in nice warm relaxed surroundings. What better way to spend the afternoon in the break betwixt Christmas and New Year.
