GREAT PUB - wonderful service, great food, well kept beer, friendly team.  We arrived a little after peak time 2:15pm, with a large party 10 and little notice - but the team managed to fit us in for lunch.  Service was exceptional, super attentive staff that understood the needs of families with small children.  Food was good pub grub - and interesting specials menu we ordered from. Good kids menu too.  2 real ales on I only tried one, but it was great, good selection of lager, 1 craft beer on draft, cider. Didn't see the wine list.  I always thought the pub looked a bit shabby from the outside, but was thrilled that the impression was wrong. We'll be back!

What a surprise. It's been a few years since I last visited but it's now bright, quirky and friendly with a fab menu. Will certainly not wait so long before our next visit. Great beers on tap too. Really enjoyed it

Visited on a Sunday lunchtime with  a large family group. They had asked us to pre order so everything came very quickly. All the food was lovely so overall we would highly recommend.

Met family there tonight for a meal. We are extremely disappointed that we are not local so we can not come back again. The food was first class. Everyone ate up even the 4 children really rated the meal. Would highly recommend eating here.Best meal we have eaten out in a long time by far. Thank you

Visited this quaint pub today for lunch. Staff and service excellent. Food wholesome really superb value for money. Will definitely be back.

Booked a birthday meal here and was rather disappointed. The menu has not changed since a visit a year ago,the portions were rather small and the service has gone down hill. Shame as the beer was good. Please can you revamp your menu??

Found this place on TripAdvisor and oh my goodness what a find. A lovely warm welcoming atmosphere in a bustling pub with barstaff who know their stuff and serve 2 or more customers at a time. Really friendly.  We looked at the menu and the specials board and we're both immediately drawn to the Aberdeen Angus steak and ale pie on mash with veg and red wine gravy. Yummy!!! The service at table was first rate, our waiter was very attentive and happy to serve us.  The pub itself is cosy and olde world with low ceilings and artifacts on the window sills. There's a car park to the rear as well as bench tables and a small children's play area.  Definitely worth another visit.

Took our 3 dogs in tonight and had the midweek steak special....was absolutely delicious!! Paid extra for stilton sauce which was also delicious. Made to feel welcome with the dogs which is great. Can't wait to pop in again..

Just been for a fantastic meal with my partner steaks cooked to perfection and pepper sauce to die for followed by delicious chocolate fudge cake and cheese cake for my partner really recommend a visit 5 star !!

Very friendly welcome and prompt service. Good selection of beers and they are well kept and presented. Definitely go again.
