Every meal I have here is faultless. Visited several times and always met with a warm welcome from the waiting staff. The restaurant is beautiful inside, it's cosy, welcoming and very tastefully decorated. The quality of the food is superb, a lot of thought has gone into the menu and I love that the menu offers something a bit different and caters for everyone. One of the few places that actually means dog friendly, rather than dog tolerant! I can't recommend enough, it really is something special! Dietary restrictions: Fantastic gluten free options, as well as multiple vegan choices
I stay away every week and to be honest most places are just nice … well this place is just perfect really friendly staff , absolutely beautiful food , great wines and the rooms are just perfect . Little treats in the room make the stay perfect . Breakfast is outstanding but I raced back for my main meal . Wow what can I say the food is just lovely . Please don’t change anything even the puppy crying was just country life and part of the ambiance of the place I will definitely make an excuse to work away in that area again
Outstanding little pub / hotel. This has been our second New Year stay. Recommend for a short stay. Cant say enough obout the place, food superb and the staff can't do enough for you. Lovely little cosy pub on the front. Love the place. Give it a try.Food: 5/5
Had high expectations after the Pear Tree was recommended to us. However, the main courses were somewhat underwhelming and definitely over-priced. The first saving grace was the puddings, which, although still over-priced, were much more enjoyable. The second saving grace was the excellent service.Food: 3/5
Absolutely beautiful meal in a beautiful setting... the best meal I've ever had and I can't wait to come back.. my steak was cooked to perfection and so fresh and tasty... it was a lovely birthdayFood: 5/5
It's a real shame, we've been coming to this venue for years and it's always been fantastic. Unfortunately our experience today was not. I ordered a lamb roast, and the lamb was dry, tiny portion, roast potato barely cooked, gravy bland, yorkie on wife's roast burnt. Mentioned to manager, no apology just "I'll mention to kitchen". Not sure if it's changed management, but this isn't the venue we used to love due to its quality and flavour.
This place has such high potential, but let down by the management. Staff need training and coaching. Food is great, but is let down when you’re left waiting for service. If it’s busy, then maybe OK but when it’s not and you can see the very young waiter and and a very young waitress giggling with each other at the counter with no real care or attention for customers and you have so get up to go to them for something, then it does take the enjoyment away. Looking back at other comments, I’m not the first to say this. So this falls on management to accept the feedback and fix the problems. They claim to be 5 star, but really should not be unless the service is up to that standard.
