Cracking little place. This is definitely one to visit, it's like stepping back in time. A beautiful building with beams and small windows, but opens up inside to a deceptively large pub. Great food offering available and really well priced. Three real ales on and the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. Toilets are clean and tables still being wiped down after each customer leaves. Couple of single step raises in the pub, for anyone less mobile to be aware of, but go, have a pint you won't be disappointed.
If I could no stars I would! It was just after 12pm and the door was closed but not locked. Walking in it didn’t look like it was open so I politely asked a gentlemen if they were opening. He replied not until 1pm today, so we apologised and made our way to the door. At this point a women stormed through a door demanding what we were doing. As we were trying to explain and apologise further she said ‘how do people get through that damn door’, glared at us all as we were leaving, slamming the door behind us as we left. An unbelievable and disproportionate response to a genuine and understandable mistake, being that the internet said they were open and that we had children with us who aren’t accustomed to such rude behaviour.
Fairly quiet pub and the main meal was decent without being spectacular. The puddings however are amazing and very fitting after a long walk.
Super pub. Super landlord and lady. Real ale chips and slice of bread after walk. Amazing.
Incredibly welcoming. The staff were so friendly. Had tea here, very reasonably priced and loads of options. Kids had cheese and beans on toast which was perfect for them and I had a nice burger and chips. Great beer too
The menu says “we don’t make quick food, we make good food” I’m not sure what day they do that but today certainly wasn’t one of them. I had fish and chips, the fish said battered on the menu but it was a breaded fillet frozen and something you’d get from Iceland not the country I could overlook it however I then head a lady who presumably cooked it and she mentioned that their dog had been in the kitchen. By far the worst meal I’ve had. Onion rings paler than the white cliffs of Dover and a gammon steak that looked like it had been cooked in a dirty pan. The staff were lovely, that’s where it ends unfortunately, I expect a rude response going off reviews I’ve seen on here, if only they put as much passion into their food.
After a lovely walk around the falls we had Sunday lunch, a very good Roast beef main and excellent sticky toffee pudding. Thank you for a lovely afternoon with friendly service.
Very friendly welcome, can have a right good natter with the staff. Been there many times, and will always visit again.
Not very friendly or welcoming.. we had an average pint and left, there are much better choices in Ingleton
Had a lovely Sunday lunch in there today with my family and 2 dogs. Food was lovely Roast Beef and Yorkshire pudding and a nicely served ale. I see other reviewers saying barman was rude. I thought he was a lovely fella and the other staff too. Really fussed over our dogs who fell in love with them. If we are passing again I would look out for that place. Veggie/Vegan food choice was excellent as well. Thank you to the staff for an unplanned pleasant couple of hours.
