Diamond of a local traditional pub with wholesome home cooked food. Very accommodating and the service and food was superb! The Knickerbocker Glory was awesome Would highly recommend. Dog friendly too
Friendly staff and a Landlord with a sense of humour. Tasty food too. The tuna, onion and capers on brown bread with chips may be a simple snack, but it was delicious.
Would highly recommend. Proper pub that is family friendly with great food and drink. We ordered double cheese burger, chicken burger, garlic mushrooms, extra portion of fries, 3 cokes and a Wainwright for £40. Fed and quenched 4 of us for £10 each can't say fairer than that. All freshly cooked and of high quality. Log burner on and the football. Plus a play park outside to keep the kids busy. Excellent service
Just what we needed to break the journey north. Normally stop at one Tebay but their restaurant would have shut when we got there! Eden told us they normally stop cooking at 7.30 but reassured us we would be fed when got there….. And indeed we were, delicious home cooked Chicken Pie with fresh veg and triple cooked chips Thank you Linda Great chat with the locals and lots of info to make it an overnight stop in the area next time. We didn’t leave our specs after all… it’s an age thing! but thanks for the great response
Disappointed, love an excuse to go here. But took my mate for his birthday after 4hours walking and there were not any staff to open the kitchen. Staff behind bar as friendly as ever and nice beer too. But I've enjoyed a meal here before and expected more. Shame, especially as 6others had also tried to get a meal. I'll ring next time.
Visiting the area and came here for tea because of the good reviews, glad we did. The food is classic pub food and excellent both in quality and value for money. Service from Laura, Linda and I'd best mention Eden was excellent with some great banter from the locals as well... Well worth a visit
Popped in on our way up to the Lake District. Lovely home cooked food from Linda and great friendly service from Laura. Can highly recommend. Great village pub.
Do not eat here. £9 for a baguette with some pork on… pork that an hour later had me vomiting it back up, something very wrong there. If you want stomach pains for the next 12 hours and an average pint, this is the place to go.
Friendly warm welcome from Laura and lovely food prepared by Linda. Great value great portions and great service. Don and Jac Glasgow.
Just visited here today with a friend for a late lunch. Plenty of parking was available. We had the gammon, egg, chips and peas. It was delicious. Everything was very fresh and the homemade chips were fantastic. All for a really great price. Would certainly return here again in the future and recommend them to others.
