Myself and 2 work colleagues enjoyed our time at smiths cottage the only reason I couldn't give 5 stars was the mattress in the 2 single bedrooms were in mine and my colleague way to soft and could feel the springs in the mattress which made for sleeping soundly impossible. Everything else was great hosts where fantastic.

Couldn't have had a better stay, and that was even with rain every day. The pool was great, play area fantastic and the cottage perfectly clean and very homely. Jonathan was a great host, and we bought some delicious eggs from their own chickens to enjoy too. Cottage kitchen has everything you need, they really have thought of everything. Advice to those going, don't forget to take your wellies, or puddlesuits for the kids, and put "three gates farm" into Google maps for precise directions! Thanks Jonathan
My daughter and I spent a week in nuthatch, September 2015. Superb family facilities. If you have children and love the great outdoors then this is idyllic accommodation. Lots of lovely walks/cycling on you doorstep. Plus, a great base to explore both North and South Devon coast. After a day on the beach, what could be better than a swim in the glorious warm swimming pool. Barbecue dinner and sink into a clean and comfortable bed? I really don't like giving 'rave' reviews because, I think I won't be able to get the dates I require... but in this instance I believe that both Johnathan and Lynne deserve it. Their attention to detail, the facilities for families are in my humble opinion, is outstanding. I am hoping to return, now I am a Nanny, with my grandchildren so they can enjoy the enriching experience of a holiday in the countryside.
Loved every second pool was very quiet so had good fun with my sis. Big cottages but the pool shut very early. Big park dog friendly. Good views took so many hours taking pics.
Beautiful holiday cottages with a very friendly family that own them. The swimming pool was amazing and very warm especially with a layer of snow outside. Would really recommend this lovely place to anyone.
Nice place, Clean although we stayed in the large cottage "the smiffy" the conservatory door was left open for our arrival and i spent half an hour evicting the wasps and flies that had congregated in there. The owner was fairly pleasant, although every time you use the facilities pool and suna he appeared, lurking around until you left them. You felt like he was monitoring what you were doing every second, so that was quite annoying. You must be ok with narrow country lanes as you drive on them for 15 mins off of main road to get here, but the remote location is worth it. Very pretty place and would come back if the owner was on holiday.
