My partner and I visited the Hartnoll hotel as a surprise treat for an achievement at work. From the moment we arrived, the service was impeccable. The staff were just attentive enough but not overly so, making us feel welcome. The atmosphere of the restaurant is cosy and warm, with a real country side feel to it. The food was by far the highlight of our visit, and far exceeded our already high expectations. We particularly loved the incorporation of sweet flavours into almost all savoury dishes, with sweet wafer with the scallop starter, lemon curd with the salmon starter, grilled apple with the duck, and, my personal favourite, cranberries, dark chocolate, and port with the venison. If you are looking for an excellent meal that will leave you relishing in the flavours, the Hartnoll is the place for you.

Went for a Mother's Day meal. Very busy but staff excellent. Food excellent. Priced on the high end of fair but worth it.

Had our wedding here and despite the improvements going on we had a lovely time! Couldn't have had a more perfect day!

Small Hotel, with nice Rooms. Everything is clean, the Personal is very helpful and polite. The Hotel has a Restaurant where you can eat very good. I was there for a Businesstrip. I can recommand this Hotel.

Standard  double room was very cramped.  Scaffolding outside room with builders working at 7.00 a.m. was extremely unwelcome. Food in restaurant very good.
