I don't expect luxury but even I have my limits, let's start with the good, the breakfast was adequate, & the girls serving it friendly, & the tap water was boiling hot, now the bad, on arrival a young Asian chap encouraged  me to pay him cash for my breakfasts for a really good discount! Which of course I accepted, the room not a bad size,  but in a state of repair, very large hole in the base of the kettle, as far as the shower was concerned I'd have done better with someone crying on me, the En suite  very very cramped, didn't sleep on the bed the 1st night because of an unsightly stain in the sheet, had to ask them to change the sheets * towels next morning but was told they only change them once a week!! But they got changed, then I got back to my room mid week to find the door open with a key in it, it had obviously been like it for some time with my belongings in the room & then I had to fix the toilet, so I went to see someone, (same young Asian chap) I had to really tell him that I needed him to see what was going off & questioned him about my room being open, he really didn't care to be honest!!! So I said what if the toilet breaks again & he said tough really we are booked up for the weekend!! I'd been there all week, then that same night really late I've got another resident trying to get into my room, tell you after a very long week down there, I wouldn't go back.

Very comfy bed and size of room. Clean and friendly.  Would stay again.  Breakfast was great! Very good value for money

Stayed at the Thorpe Lodge hotel last night our room was very clean, the bed was really comfortable had a great night sleep, the room was nice and warm plenty of hot water for a bath, and the breakfast in the morning was really good to plenty to eat. The staff were very friendly to.
It's not far from the city centre so makes for a good Base whilst visiting.

A great hotel, breakfast was fantastic.  Bed was comfortable so it was a good sleep. Plenty of hot water for soak in the bath. Staff were very pleasant & helpful.

Convenient location, the staff were extremely friendly and the room was nice and well stocked with tea and coffee. Cleaning and attention to detail could be improved
