We enjoyed a good weekend here. Lovely old building with character and charm. Located centrally with easy access to the shops and other attractions. The staff are all welcoming and helpful and the food is excellent. The car park entrance isn’t next to the hotel and the one way system isn’t helpful! I suggest using the “what3words” reference: charm.gross.scarcely to navigate to the arched car park entrance.
Food and service good. Hotel is lovely and clean, staff friendly. Rooms were nice but absolutely sweltering. Could not turn radiator down. Dial was set to 0 and the radiator still on. Slept with window open, fan on which didn't really help at all except move hot air about.
Room was great bar prices very reasonable but the breakfast was terrible . Ran out of beans and 1 of each item 1 egg 1 sausage 1 hash brown nearly 1 rasher of bacon but not quite 1/2 tomoto and a spoonfull of mushrooms no beans because they had run out! £15! everything was overcooked and dried out. Recommend the Hotel but not the food!
Came for a baby shower and had the best time! The food was absolutely fab, the service was fantastic and everything was very reasonably priced. The new bar also looks very cool! Pics attached. Thank you to all the staff that made our stay so lovely! I would absolutely recommend this hotel and will be telling friends and family :
Popped in today for Sunday lunch.nFood was extremely basic, dried up meat, soggy vegetables, aunt Bessie roasts or similar! Hard Yorkshire pudding. Cauliflower cheese in a small ramekin with no sauce.nIn fact the whole dinner was very appalling for a 4 star hotel. Not cheap for the quality of products. I think it may have been packet microwave.nNo one asked us how our meal was halfway through, no service. No condiments such as horseradish or apple sauce.nOur plates left, would have altered a reaction, you would have thought.nTerrible.
