We have used Thornley Groves Estate Agents both as a letting agent and also a management agent of our buy to let for many years . Their service has been professional in all respects and their timeliness in dealing with all matters . I would especially like to recommend Katie Garner , Senior Property manager for her outstanding service recently in dealing with a complex issue involving insurance and contractors that enabled us to put the flat back on the market in record time . We highly recommend them .
We have used this branch of Thornley Groves to manage an apartment we have in Manchester for 20 years. As live away landlords for much of that period it was essential to have an agent on the spot who could deal with problems quickly and efficiently. It worked well for a few years but then their performance fell away-we had difficulty communicating with the manager on our case often finding that he/she had left the firm after our leaving many messages on a defunct extension, and we got the impression that action was not being taken quickly enough reminders from the apartment block management that things weren't being sorted out etc. We did consider moving to another agent. However over the last 7-8 years their performance has improved out of all recognition. We have recently had a change of tenants after 3 years and the process of finding new tenants has been very efficient such that our void period has been just 2 weeks even with some remedial work required. So the marketing team Conor Moore and William Anderson were on the case very quickly and achieved the asking rental, our property manager Aun Shah got us through the work required after the tenants vacated and finally the back office team including Jodie Finch got the documentation sorted and available very promptly so that we had no delays in securing head lease consent unlike previously where through a lack of communication we ended up with a costly catch up on fees. So all in all a very good performance moving from 2/3 up to 4+stars. Good teamwork! Michael and Vivienne Newton
We have been with Thornley Groves for many years. They fully manage our apartment. We have found them to be professional and personable, with a high standard of care and attention. Our Property Relationship Manager, Katie is always responsive and assertive in getting anything that needs attention sorted in a timely manner. We are 100% confident that our apartment is being managed by one of the best Estate Agents in Manchester, and have no hesitation in giving a 5* rating. Have had absolutely great experience letting my flat with Thornley Groves. The process has been managed by Jordana who is really lovely and has been an amazing help from the start. She's explained everything in detail and has been very quick to respond to my hundreds of queries. The marketing of flat looked great in pictures and the flat has only taken a week to let. Very pleased I chose Thornley groves and Jordana to manage the process. Couldn't recommend highly enough.
When I walked in the door in June, I went with my local friend to inquire about apartment rentals. They were happy to show me the properties and introduce the location and price of each property. After that, I left the UK until a while ago, when I returned to the UK, this time I went here alone. I was deeply affected by the rudeness of the agent. He rejected my consultation request outright, thinking that I should find the apartment on their website and contact from the website. Didn't leave an apology and left me standing at the door like a clown. If the website is very clear, why did I go here to inquire? I have also been to other agents and have never encountered such rudeness as that day. Don't know if it is racial discrimination. When I went with my local friends, they were very happy to receive us. It's really strange. The worst consultation experience ever
As a hands off landlord with 2 investment flats in Manchester I had an awful experience with my previous agent. Fortunately my properties are now let and managed by Thornley Groves and have been for the last 18 months or so. They have been excellent: they are proactive with their communication, properly staffed with professionals who manage all the different parts of the processes efficiently, have good back office systems and an excellent portal web app to enable me to see all that is happening or has happened with my properties, are easy to get hold of you can speak to any of their team very quickly and respond to any queries promptly. I cannot speak highly enough of the team members I have dealt with including Jodie, Aun and Conor. Highly recommend!
My family and I had booked an apartment viewing for the morning on their website. I received three "NO-REPLY" emails reminding me that we cannot be late and only have 15 minutes to view the apartment. We even arrived 5 minutes early. There was a man who told me he was also waiting for the Thornley letting agency. He had already waited 7 minutes and was going to leave since no one had shown up at the appointed time. Maybe the agent had some accident? However, nobody showed up even 5 minutes after my agreed time. Since these emails do not provide any direct email or contact number to reach the agent directly, we can only wait them in the 15-degree windy conditions. During the entire day, no one emailed or called me to explain the missed appointment or rearrangement. These reminder emails also should be sent to your employees' mailboxes to remind them of the scheduled viewings. Be on time as you guys are ADULT :
I am not hesitant to state that Thornley Groves is the worst letting agents in Manchester. Their ability to avoid every single communication should be considered for a world record at this point...."World Record For Company To Ignore The Most Correspondence". Here I will outline specifically why they are such an unbearable estate agents and should be avoided at all costs: - Leak in Bathroom ceiling dangerously coming through light fixture took far too long to repair and we were offered £100 as compensation which is laughable - Toilet cistern broken for a considerable part of our tenancy and guess what? No further communications - Fridge was broken for 2 weeks upon starting our tenancy during a hot summer, no consideration or you guessed it communications for the costs we had to bare having no way of storing food - Potentially harmful leak in living room was ignored for days - Boiler issue causing heating problem raising electric bill IGNORED And finally, more than 3 weeks after handing our keys back we have made several attempts to contact our letting agent Saga Moayeri who has made no attempt to respond to us and has left us completely in the dark about our deposit. I have taken it to TDS to sort out. I would not recommend this agent to my worst enemy.
I had a wonderful experience with Thornley Groves over the last 4 years that I’ve been renting in one of their properties. They have been very quick and efficient in addressing my concerns. Special thanks to Christabel Hill, my property manager. She made the entire process of ending my tenancy as smooth as possible. Provided me with quick and clear instructions. You are a true asset to your company. Top notch customer service I must say. Highly recommended!
They are the most unprofessional letting agent company. There is no one to answer your call if you have any issue regarding the property. They will cancel and keep on postponing your viewing as it happened with me. On the day of viewing they send me a reminder mail in the morning, and just half an hour before the viewing, they are saying that the property is gone. I already traveled half way and canceled all other plans and, it was totally waste of time. They will also spam your mail box with properties which does not meet your requirements, even after making you fill a bogus form every time when you are trying to book a viewing. Such a shame.
