Professional and supportive When I first met Janice Powell she filled me with confidence. She made copious notes and quickly got to grips with our matter. Fierce and determined, she handled opposing solicitors well, even when their conduct was atrocious. She overcame many obstacles and delays caused by other parties, showing a resolve to persevere. When Emma Hughes-McEwen joined she became an excellent compliment to the team. Emma is approachable, knowledgeable and hard working. She meets deadlines, always responds swiftly to emails, even calling to offer support. They were always considerate with fees and we built up a very good relationship.

Emma Hughes-McEwan of Thomas Simon has represented me for the past 6 years in a complex IRHP case against Lloyds Bank which has recently concluded. I have found Thomas Simon as a company and Ms Hughes-McEwan extremely professional and competent in what was an increasingly frustrating case. Their advice was always balanced and i was aware at all stages of the various outcome possiblities. I was always kept informed of the progress and twists and turns of the case. My needs and best interest was always at the fore front both for the case itself and the financial costs, actual and potential. Now that this particular case is concluded I am using Thomas Simon Solicitors for all my current and future legal needs including conveyancing and wills.

Useless firm that despite me chasing constantly for two weeks were not able to forward on emails or let me know that the defendant had responded. Despite the response from the defendant, they then continued to take action (that I otherwise would have stopped), that was not authorised or necessary and charged for the privilege. A complete joke of a company. UPDATE: They did eventually refund me the overcharge and I the solicitor who this review is about has since left the firm to. Not sure if those two things are related or not, but still wouldn't use these guys again.
