Thomas house was recommended by our waiter in the restaurant we visited and it really is a great place. They're serving a variety of alcohol free drinks, which we very enjoyed, but they have several beers with alcohol on tap. Everyone was very nice and we got to hang out with one of the regulars - a beautiful black dog We enjoyed it so much that we came back every night of our 4 day stay in Dublin.
Excellent selection of craft beers available. Great little area downstairs for live music.
Great rock and metal music Great selection of beers and drinks Staff with brilliant personalities What more do you want? ;
What a great spot full of charisma great music & fab atmosphere....Will definitely be back
Great pub. Friendly staff and great music. Anything from Northern Soul to ska to punk & new wave. Good selection of beers & drinks and run some great gigs & club nights & welcoming to all.
Succulent guiness and cool bar. Glass collector has a serious attitude though and unfortunately he did spoil the bar for me. I put down my pint of guiness on a table as I was talking to a buddy and he decided to take it even though there was a good solid third of a pint left in it. I told him that it was mine and I wasnt finished with it and he started to get narky with me. I was very polite but he walked off in a huff. He came back 5 minutes later when I had finished my pint and he sarcastically asked me if he could take it now. I politely said he could as I was now finished my pint, and he then gestured the empty pint towards his eye and said something along the lines of "are you sure I can take it, look there's a small drop left you'll probably want to finish that too". Sure for gods sake of course I wasn't going to let him throw a third of a pint down the drain when it costs over 6€. Money grows on trees in Dublin I'd say, must look into bringing a few seeds to cork and setting up my money tree forest. No need of it and I certainly won't be returning after that psycopathic display. Pity as it was a charming bar otherwise.
A hidden gem. There are not many bars like this left. Genuine, friendly staff, good beer and good vibes. What more do you want. Passing by this place without stopping in is missing out.
Well. I had been here few years back. Quaint I thought. Then a great DJ set from the era of the band I’d seen. So last week. Another band. The bar upstairs is slightly raised. So the bar staff have a good view. The range of beer is excellent. Including a lovely session ipa. I saw McArdles. A Louth Ale. Not seen it in years. Thirty years. Should I risk a pint? Bar lady said they sell a huge amount of it. Great. And it didn’t disappoint. Fair price too. They serve the gin and tonic with a splash gun of tonic, hence it is no more expensive than a pint!!! Thanks. If I find the receipt I will add it. And the good Bas service continued downstairs. Even when the McArdles ran out. And no question of running us out of the building either. The bar upstairs is horse shoe shaped. And can be closed off with a curtain to make the entrance half cozy when it is not busy. The venue downstairs is small. Intimate? A huge crowd is probably 100. But it is brilliant. The loos upstairs are ... functional. Downstairs positively swanky. The place has a great biz and seems to be the home of the Rockabilly set. We will be back.
Excellent atmosphere and vibe here, one of the best pubs in Dublin.
More than acceptable pint of Guinness. Good selection of beers on tap and range of bottled beers. Something for everyone really and interesting mix of customers. Has plenty of character and some brilliant music. Definitely worth a visit.
