The Legal Eagle
"When we took over The Legal Eagle, we inherited some of the glorious features, and the building really spoke to us of old-fashioned pub-grub. The trouble is, we don't have a tradition in Ireland of real gastro pub cooking... so what to do. We looked to the old English traditions of pickled eggs and eels in the pub for the downstairs bar, but knew we should honour our own traditional lexicon of producers where possible. That style of food is very much in the 'nose-to-tail' world of dining, but the more we thought about it, the more we realised that 'nose-to-tail' use every bit and don't waste it!! sits alongside a celebration of vegetables very comfortably! Both are a celebration of produce, and we hope to use some lesser celebrated veg!"

Great range of off-piste beers in the @underdog sign change imminent : , served by competently knowledgeable and friendly staff, all in a relaxed and sociable atmosphere.
Only place in Dublin that chooses all the beers they serve based on quality and not forced taps in Guinness contracts etc. Regularly have rare and incredibly good beers on draught. It is really impressive how many taps they have and how often the selection changes. If you like real, genuine craft beer this is prob only game in town.
No Guinness here, you don't need it. They have some of the best crafted beers I've tasted.
Over in Dublin for a long weekend and, after an online recommendation, decided to give the Legal Eagle a visit for Friday night dinner so phoned up and managed to get a last minute reservation. It did not disappoint. Staff were very friendly. Food was so good that neither of us left anything on our plates. And the price was so reasonable we actually thought it was a little too low for the quality of the food! So good we booked a table for Saturday night.
Craft beer bar shortened into an old pub! Lots of beers, service was friendly and knowledgeable, I'd have liked flights or smaller glasses to try more beers but hey, a minor issue. Best beer range in Dublin?
Really delicious flavours paired with traditional Irish options. Pictured here are Wicklow fried brie, pork scratches, roast beef with a side of chunky crispy chips and a treacle tart with sea salt ice cream. Weekend 2 course or 3 course options at reasonable price for such good quality food. Really friendly staff and great service!
I was only in for the "the one" but the staff were friendly and helpful the atmosphere was welcoming and the bar itself was beautiful. Be looking forward to seeing what Underdog brings in the new place on Capel St. But also back to The legal Eagle for the warm and cozy feel to the place.
Great place for Craft Beer. Taps rotate regularly and good selection. Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable so can help with with your choice of beverage.
My kind of bar, great selection of beer
Great craft beer selection for Dublin. If you’re a craft beer lover, I recommend.
