Story

A village pub & brewery in the city, with a huge garden which forms one tip of Victoria Park.

Since it opened in 1845, Victoria Park has also been well known as the People’s Park, created as it was for the ordinary people of the East End, many of whom had never seen such a wide open and beautiful green space before. The People’s Park later became a venue for all kinds of public meetings and demonstrations of freedom of expression, which is the inspiration for our name.

Serving hearty, traditional pub food as well as a range of 'People's Pies' and Sunday roasts, whole roast chickens are also available for groups who want to share. There are open mic events, scratch theatre performances, improv comedy, jam sessions, live art creation and more upstairs in our 'Scratch Theatre'.

Love the atmosphere. But food is soooooo expensive and there’s not much choice. I’d recommend if you’re looking for an outdoor drinking session. But it will cost you quite a lot. Also, they don’t seem to like children much, so be aware before you take your toddler there.

After the People's Park refused to serve us a roast after booking several days in advance and specifically selecting 'roast' in that booking - we walked 5 mins down the road to the HECTOR & NOBLE - where we had a splendid lunch far better than we'd expected at the PP. Suggest others do the same

Big outdoors space with booths and cover for when the London weather fails us. Backs onto Victoria Park. Gets busy and still has a good atmosphere in Covid times hard to find! Menu is good and the service is fast and friendly

Great place to have a drink after work woth friends. Thats exactly  what we did. Staff were really lovely.  Out side was great with the heaters. Chicken burger meal was delicious  Thanks Guys.

Always lovely in the sun! Great place for catch ups, some cocktails and food. An east London special!
