My favourite Chinese restaurant when we come to Liverpool to visit family. Food is fresh, tasty and served well presented, the restaurant and bar area is clean, great atmosphere and everyone seems to be enjoying there time there. My son loves this place especially the sizzling steak in Cantonese sauce its all he goes on about for days after being here. Generous portions and the wine is top too. Thank you will be visiting again
Celebrated a birthday here, service was poor due to under staffing, staff were lovely. Starters were so nice but main course was just about warm not very appetisingFood: 3/5
Attentive staff, with excellent food. First time there after many years celebrating our 53rd Wedding Anniversary. Pricey compared to many Chinese restaurants in South Liverpool, but in our opinion well worth it. Parking: 'The Dip' right opposite restaurant. Small number of frèe spaces but fortunate to get one tonight. Some street parking opposite also, but these fill up very quickly due to active night life in the village. Possible parking in Sainsbury's car park behind the restaurant turn left at lights at crossroads but beware time limits which incur a fine if breached.
Been going to the Ying Wah for years, we had a take away last week on collection and it was fantastic! Lovely staff, a staple of woolton for sure! Edit: we've actually been back and the new restaurant is amazing after the renovation! It's comfy, welcoming and stylish! The menus are easy to read with great helpful staff, would 100 recommend!
Really disappointed, dined here today and can't say we'd return. It's a shame because the table and setting were lovely and just what we were looking for but I'm afraid the food was really lacking. Portions are tiny, served 2 char sui buns which seemed old and reheated! I've never had such a hard and chewy bao bun and absolutely no filling. Tasteless sui mai, cold noodles and dry and tasteless wortip. Would usually think maybe we ordered the wrong items but every dish was tasteless, tiny and seriously lacking in any flavour at all which I can't understand in a Chinese? The teapot and plates weren't very clean and overall wished we hadn't have gone in and wasted our money. The food seemed really old and microwaved! Lovely place to sit but unfortunately need a new chef judging by our meal!
Got to be the worst Chinese I have been to the food was shocking. The chicken in the chicken sweetcorn soup was like powder not flavour to it at all, the salt and Peper chicken well it was just a plate full of onions and a small bit of chicken that was so dry , the children's chicken noodles were dreadful my kids couldn't even eat them also to get charged £3.50 for a blackcurrant cordial and water for my daughter rip of never will I step into this place again
One of the best chinese restaurants outside of Chinatown. The food is superb and of the highest quality. Portion sizes are perfect. I highly recommend the Beef in Black Bean sauce. The Dim Sum starters are amazingly good too.Food: 5/5
Amazing authentic Cantonese food along with all the other oriental flavours. Great friendly staff members that are down to earth and will solve any issues you have promptly and are very attentive. Quick service. The restaurant also doubles as a bar in the evening with knowledgeable cocktail staff on from 3pm. Highly recommend for food or drinks if you are passing by.
Went to the ying wah for the 1st time in maybe 20yrs the place has been renovated to a good standard, went in was greeted by a big bloke who was really friendly, however the skinny chinese bloke who served us shouldnt be dealing with customers I'm not sure if he was having a bad day but he gave the impression he didnt want to be there, not friendly almost like arrogance, 1 word replies like as if dont ask me anything, we was taken to our table very small the food on the other hand was fabulous faultless, I would have given 5 star if the service from that member of staff would have been as good as the food
This is probably the best Chinese food I've ever eaten. Can't wait to come back!Food: 5/5
