This is the largest Wetherspoons I have visited. It's a very large open plan old building where you can see the food being prepared as well as having huge outdoor space which enables them to split it into a smoking and non smoking area. Bravo, as a non smoker this was brilliant to find on a very warm and sunny day and made my visit far more pleasurable. We used the App to order food and I was pleased to see several new choices on the menu as I am not able to eat the burgers due to something in the mix possibly cooking oil or spread but it tastes really funky. I went with a chicken shawarma wrap with chips. It was fine. The chicken pieces were very small compared to a 'real' shawarma but it was definitely spicy and tasty enough. Staff and service was excellent, nothing I could fault there, they were polite and helpful. For a random Tuesday lunchtime it was fairly busy. I can imagine this place heaving on an evening and would be far too busy for me, but I would happily visit again for lunch.
I've visited a couple of times now. It is always quite busy but the place is huge and you can always get a table. The waiting time for food and drinks was excellent and the service was great! Very friendly, efficient and attentive staff. The food was excellent and they have a great range of food and drink to suit all tastes. You can order food and drink straight to your table via the Wetherspoon app which is very convenient.
Typical wetherspoons pub, located just off the high street near to the Nexus training centre, they offer cheap food and drinks which are value for money. It gets very busy, but no hassle or issues when I was inFood: 4/5
One of the biggest Spoons Casta has ever visited. We have been before many times but it is 5 or 6 years since our last visit. It has massively extended internally and also has a huge beer terrace. It lacks character but the staff are well trained and spot on. Casta had a Hadrian Borders Farne Island 4% ale. Very good, especially with a 50p CAMRA voucher. Locals tell me the kitchen csn get really busy. Wheelchair accessibility: Ramps etc to make it wheelchair friendly.
I’ve visited this place dozen of times for fine food and drink. Tonight the manager dealt with a rather unsavoury situation very well. I hope she enjoys her wine tonight Food is always good service tremendous And I expect an extra pint on my next visit Peace out x
Had breakfast there today - looked good & plentiful, unfortunately the only 'warm', not hot , items were the hash browns & the sausage! Seems like plates were not warmed, or had been left standing for too long before being served to table.Food: 1/5
Fully refurbished and made bigger by taking over the nightclub next door. Outside seating area with lots of tables inside. Massive improvement on old building. Staff friendly and helpful, good food and drinks menu at great prices.
Cheap and cheerful, no nonsense pubs with a good selection of ales at very reasonable. My only criticism is how many tables they cram into my local 'spoons. This results in negotiating round parts of the pub being a bit like tripping to find your way round Hampton Court maze! But I suppose that's all part of how they manage to keep prices down, so can't really complain.
Came here today standard spoons decent outside area for drinking which is always a bonus! Got the curry which was nice but why are the poppadoms always shocking at spoons! Either soggy or full of oil! Come guys sort it out or scrap it of f the menu! Apple pie as increased in price significantly but at least the portion size has increased aswel!
No surprises regarding food selection and value for money. The usual Wetherspoons menu, can't go wrong. Service was very good. This is a popular place and just managed to get a table. As usual, can order using the App.
