We had a lovely afternoon celebrating a staff do. The Criterion is a proper old-fashioned pub, with great service, good food and good vibes! The location is great and they're not tight with their drinks offering for bottomless brunches. It's small ans cosy. Would definitely recommend.Food: 5/5
Visitsd with my Boyfriend and Brother as part of the real ale festival. Gorgeous Victorian decor like sitting in a grand sitting room, two coal fires which made the room cosy and the smell of the fires brought back some fond memories. Staff were friendly chatty and polite had a good bit of banter. Good selection of drinks good prices. Food was delicious but limited vegetarian selection a little bit of a wait but food was fresh. Would recommend.

Beautiful one room bar.. original Victorian fixtures. Lovely smell of the coal fire, reminds me of Beamish.. they no longer serve food at the time of writing this a pint of Coors light was £3.
Visited today with 10 of my friends and all we can say was brilliant. When we first arrived at 12 just opening we were in the snug room. The coal fire was burning, but still a bit cold. Within time the drinks was flowing Bottomless brunch and when the food arrived it was plentiful. The staff was more than happy to help where possible and nothing was any trouble at all. What a great day had by all. We will be back. The coal fires was the icing on the cake. Thank you all the best for the New Year. Xx
