Very generous portions. We got chicken Kiev and Cajun chicken burger, both had very large butterfly chicken breasts. Most dishes come with salad and chips. Chips were quite plain no salt or flavour. Overall decent pub grub, staff are helpful and quick with table service provided. This pub is dog friendly.Food: 4/5
3 of is went there while visiting south shields on the basis of good reviews. Having been there in the past and remembering it being a bit grubby, what a transformation. Its bright and tastefully furnished. The food was fantastic value, the fish and chips was huge, well cooked and the fish fresh. The pie of the day lamb and mint was packed with chunks of lamb and pastry a cross between suet and short. Desserts were a blast from the past, a clever idea! My own criticism would be lack of any draft beer, but the food more than made up for it.
Headed to Harbour Lights for a breakfast, we were given a table at the large windows overlooking the Tyne and North Sea. We ordered two full English breakfasts with tea and orange juice. It didn’t take very long to arrive and it was everything we needed. Great service with no fuss. Got to say this is total value for money and we will definitely be back for more. I might attempt the Belly Buster next time Parking: Plenty parking along the park road Wheelchair accessibility: No problems for wheelchairs
Took my mum in for dinner and was frankly blown away by what we got. Excellent well cooked food created by a chef who obviously cared passionately about what they do. Everything was truly home made and lived up to being exactly that. Brilliant friendly staff and excellent value for money. Definitely one to go for a drive and find, especially for the views over the harbour
Amazing food all cooked fresh, and huge portions so go hungry, the Landlord and his whole staff made us feel very welcome. All in all excellent food and superb value for money 5 Stars from us !Food: 5/5
First time visit since Michael Ward took over & to be honest the food was excellent. I don't think that Portion Control is part of the vocabulary as the mixed grill was MASSIVE & cooked perfectly. Great service from Claire. Highly recommended & my honest opinion is first class & you will struggle to clear your plate.
Food is cheap but great quality food, staff are so lovely and warm welcoming. The bar/ restaurant has a lovely old Vibe to it and has a lovely garden out the back.Food: 5/5
Came here for lunch with friends. Food was amazing, we all enjoyed it. All the staff were amazing and super friendly. Service was quick even though it was Easter Monday and the place was full.Food: 5/5
Another beautiful meal at the revamped Harbour Lights. Micheal and the chefs have brought this pub back to life and a big well done to all. A great asset for the Lawe Top. We had homemade fish cakes for starters, Mrs B had the monkfish curry and I had the Gurnard in a cajun sauce. All the fish are sourced from North Shields fish Qua and can differ each day. The service was excellent polite and welcoming. The venue was busy and walk-ins arewelcome. We would recommend booking a table especially on a Sunday when it is very busy. I have added some photos of our roast dinner from a previous visit. We highly recommend this gastro pub. We'll done Michael and staff.
