We celebrated a family members 70th birthday here after spending the afternoon on a narrow boat that we sailed from Desborough and cruised up the canal to this restaurant which is perfectly located with beautiful views and scenery and a short walk from the canal - highly recommend for the perfect stop-off !nnWe hired The Stables room here and preordered the buffet option not just your typical buffet, it was fancy and delicious The venue was beautiful, the staff were so attentive and accommodating! They allowed us to decorate the room the night before, they stored our cake overnight, and nothing was too much trouble for them to ensure our day ran smoothly.nnCan’t thank you all enough and would highly recommend this restaurant as it was recommended to us!. Thank you all so much, sorry we didn’t catch any staffs names but you were all great and we throughly enjoyed our afternoon!

Proper hearty pub classics done well, generous portions, and the sort of menu where everything sounds like a good idea. It’s the kind of place where you order something simple and it somehow turns out even better than expected.nnDrinks-wise, there’s a great selection, and everything is served with a friendly, no-fuss approach that just adds to the charm. The staff are warm, attentive without hovering, and genuinely make you feel welcome rather than just “served”.nnIt’s also one of those pubs that works for anything. Quick drink, family meal, catch-up with friends, or a relaxed Sunday afternoon, it just fits.nnAll in all, a proper village gem. No gimmicks, no trying too hard, just a genuinely great pub that does everything right.
The Woolpack Inn Hosted our wedding on the 20th March and they absolutely exceeded our expectations. The whole way through they were great with communicating with us and putting to rest any doubts we had and made the process so easy.nOn the actual day they worked so hard with setting up the restaurant, making our vision come to life perfectly. All of the staff were wonderful, so friendly, accommodating and helped make the day run so smoothly.nThe food was amazing and everyone was complimenting how good it was so I’m sure there will be some return customers!nMassive thanks in particular to Rob who took over halfway through the planning. We couldn’t have asked for a better person to manage the day for us!nIf anyone is thinking about having their Wedding Reception here then we would absolutely recommend them!nThank you so much again from the new Mr and Mrs McCormack!
Really impressed. Bit unassuming from the front but the interior is nicy and cosy, staff were polite and friendly but where it really shines was the food. Really good quality, decent portions and remarkably good value, was not disappointed and would 100% come back, even the childs meal was really tasty
It's really beautiful place for food! I highly recommend. Great selection of alcohol and great atmosphere thanks to super friendly professional team :-. I did enjoy the pub every time.
