This is one of those places that you can always mean to pop into but never quite make it. Don’t make that mistake - it is one of the most pleasant eateries in the area, with one of the freshest menus you could hope to find. With a changing selection of specials, and a strong core you can order from in advance, the kitchen takes care to ensure each meal is up to a decent standard. The staff are always welcoming, and can accommodate families, couples, and larger groups with ease. Add in a beautiful meal garden, and ample parking, this is one to add to a summer outing.

The waiting-on staff did their best to accommodate poor and slow food leaving the kitchen. The rump steak really was inedible even after being returned to the kitchen. Only realised once we returned home that we'd been over charged for our food, plus charged for items which we'd ordered but hadn't received due to them running out, guess we were too keen to leave, so check your bill carefully.

Great little pub. Lots of parking and wonderful food, a very varied menu made choosing difficult! Service was a little slow for us but we were there for lunch to enjoy ourselves so it didn't matter, we talked for over 3 hours anyway! Lovely atmosphere inside, well decorated with an open fire and comfy seating. Would very much recommend.

Made a booking for the Christmas menu, paid a deposit and asked for suitable seats with space for a pram. On arrival the booking could not be found even with my reservation number so we were left stood around for 5 minutes before a table was found which was unsuitable as I had asked for a larger table for pram on the booking. Gave us the wrong menu to order from as I had paid for the Christmas one. The drinks took ages to arrive and the cocktails ordered which usually come in pretty glasses with nice details such as mint/rosemary were just served in standard glasses with no nice details! The food took a long time to arrive and was very disappointing. We have eaten here in the past and have always enjoyed the food and service. It was the 22nd of December but I honestly didn't expect the service/food to be this different to previous visits. We got the bill and they hadn't taken off the deposit! Took an age to be rectified! I was honestly glad to be leaving when we eventually paid. Disappointing visit, won't be visiting again in a hurry
