A friendly atmosphere and helpful staff makes for a nice quiet drink escaping the hustle and bustle of city living quite a surprise to find such a place on the outskirts of London. Also seems linked to the military from its outside mural and interior decoration so possible historic military connections that those interested in such things may wish to research
Lovley people first time in there and food was great would recommend proper pub well done all the staff

Came down to see a band called The Signs and was delighted I did. Took me back to my youth with sounds by The Jam, Who, Small Faces etc. Typical Essex style estate pub with a lively crowd and chatty patrons. Would I go back...... Yes

Nice friendly local pub
The staff were very prompt and friendly, the pub seemed nice and traditional, a little aged but the type that's hard to find these days. The glasses were either very old scratched or not very well cleaned, I didn't look too closely. We sat in the shade in the beer garden where we were able to watch the world go by for a bit.
Brilliant pub, if you can put up with the miserable land lady and the constant flow of youngster's doing coke in the toilets
