A BIG THANK YOU from me to my amazing midwife, staff and doctors . In my own words I want to say - Goo, Goo, Ga, Ga & loadsa love !!”nnI U !nWhittington HospitalnnYou are my baby, baby, baby, baby Love
The best hospital in London, I went to the emergency room yesterday because I had a cyst that wouldn't even let me sit down. I waited a few hours like in any hospital in London and they treated me very quickly and efficiently, giving me an appointment for the next day. The next day I came and had surgery in the morning with a team full of professionals and very polite and pleasant people. The best service I have had in London in a hospital. Thanks to all the team
I had my baby on the 29th of May at Whittington hospital .nAll I can say is I had a great experience. Everyone was so caring and understanding and sweet .nnI wish I could thank again the lady that was sitting next to my head during my c section - she said she was from Pakistan and she was administrating some of the medication I was taking during the procedure. She was calming me down , re assuring me - honestly she made it so much easier on me .nThen when baby came they all looked so happy and excited ..nRooms were nice and clean .nMidwifery was great.nI’m very thankful and definitely choosing again Whittington hospital for my next baby god’s willing .
I had my Cervical surgery on 16th of July , 2024 at Whittington hospital . I would like to say a big Thankyou to Theatre team and the recovery staff Nurse named D who provided me with such a good care , love and support . I really felt that I was listened as a patient and I was treated so well and cared . So a big Thankyou to theatre team and recovery nurse .nBut as I was transferred to the ward called Mercers , I felt a big shift in the nature of the care . I could name most of the staff but I don’t want too.I along my family members could feel the lack of compassion , no anticipation, no empathy , and no support in their care which was provided to me . Hardly staff introduced themselves to me .Unless I ask for some support there was no approach from staff side to offer me care . Even when I asked for basic care I had to wait for several hours .For example I asked for Oramorph for my pain .A nurse came with oramorph in a syringe and just said whatever the medicine was and administered it .Didn’t even have any courtesy to ask if I’m in discomfort, if I need to be repositioned. There was no sign of any reassurance .Another example one of the HCA came to do my obs early morning may be it was 5- 6 am in the morning and I kindly requested for a bed pan and even mentioned no rush but eventually I would like to use but there was no sign of anyone supporting me with the care till late morning .It was by 11am when my physiotherapist came then I mentioned and was finally able to use washroom .Requested 2-3 staff if they could provide me my toothbrush as I really wanted to brush my teeth and I even mentioned I will do it by myself but if they could just hand it over to me but no one did . And there are many more other examples likes when I was served food they would just leave it on table no courtesy to put the table across the bed . No one even offered me for personal care . I had to request for a wash bowl and some hot water . I did my personal care myself . Requested if a nurse could just help me brush my hair as I wasn’t able too she never did .nHere I am not trying to say that they have to do everything for a patient .I know how busy they are . But at least communicate with your patient , reassure them , make them feel welcome . I myself had been working in this field since 2010, I too work in a hospital . I reflected how I care for my patients and how I was cared . And it really made me think for people like me who can at least talk was treated this way what about those who can’t ?nThere were very few very few staff on that ward who showed a bit more compassion , kindness , care , commitment. I am not trying to judge people here but please treat your patient how you would like to be treated too . A bit of smiles might not heal your patient’s physical pain but does emotionally and mentally at this vulnerable time of theirs .
Fabulous treatment from whittington hospital. As an immunocompromised patient i went in with low potassium and high lactate. Was brought into the triage assessment room within 5 minutes and brought straight to the rapid assessment unit. From there i was taken straight to a side room for treatment! Staff were very pleasant and didnt ignore me, addressed my concerns and got me treated and discharged within 9 hours!nThank you ever so much
