This weekend I was detained under the section 136 mental health act, so I had a room which I stayed in for 24 hours. The staff looked after me very well! Martin the support worker was excellent with me and Shaki the support worker was brilliant aswell! But Martin was my favourite staff member when I spent time there and the rest of the nurses were brilliant. As soon as I told them I had autism they were understanding about it and kept me safe when there. What I didn't like about it was that I've never been to a psychiatric hospital before so this was a big shock for me!! I didn't like waiting for the assessment team to come, I was bored and I was obviously isolated! But after being assessed I was told I could go home with support so this place has saved my life!!
AWFUL! Would give zero stars if I could. Terrible service and did nothing to help. I have severe mental health issues, including suicidal thoughts + attempts and self harm for years. I finally accepted I have a problem and attempted to reach out, but the crisis team has made me wish I just killed myself. Not to mention, rude staff! Receptionist was especially rude older brunette lady and unhelpful, and left me frustrated. She blatantly lied and set off my anger issues, which has led to me having a SEVERE self harm episode. The whiteleaf centre doesn’t help with mental health…I think committing suicide is more likely to help than going here. I’m sure some already have, and don’t be surprised if I do too.
The worst place. Racism here was unbelievable. A patient threw bananas at another patient repeatedly, whilst the staff just looked and did nothing to stop her. Completely uninterested in people getting better and helping, it's just a holding place and the staff are clockwatchjnt all day. Awful place.
Bit late but a couple years ago a psychologist bluntly said “i could tell you had a personality disorder within 10 minutes “ Diagnosed me and told me i had to go help myself. This was a 15 minute session where i was treated like i was just another number and annoying teen with mental health issues. Discharged and never seen again. I cried all the way home and c** myself. Wish I was younger to go back to CAMHS
Thacker Robert Ihave seen only good things going on with my care if I had skills I would be happy to help here. I am yet to do the therapy but already my health has started to be better heart rate is better thankful I got here before I got hURTS. Now thats as you See thats one of Pacient and Now My Frend... My opinion is Same about it Andd Staff Is Amazing
I’m honestly disgusted how people are left who are in a mental health crisis. I was told by my doctor to speak to my mental health nurse. I called up yesterday twice to speak to someone regarding being a risk to myself and I was promised a call back asap and almost 2 days later and still no call back.
Very disappointed with the way relatives are treated. I realise there is patient confidentiality but I'm aghast how I am fobbed off continually when trying to find out if my husband is safe and being cared for properly.
I popped into this place on Wednesday 10th August unexpectedly, due to some concerns by a friend & Thames Valley Police regarding my mental health. . However the only concern is such shameful incompetent organisation can detail me off as not fit for purpose, take away my freedom's indefinitely and transform my character into a zombie like status. What I witnessed in the 26hr+ visit for a so called medical assessment was beyond belief and needs closing down as not fit for purpose before they cause some real damage to life and soul in Buckinghamshire leafy Middle England. I would choose to take immediate action and pop down their unannounced for the purpose of saving the vulnerable souls subjected to all sorts of abuse, neglects and inhumane treatment. I'm a character moulded by some pretty bizarre life experiences and subjective realities that I have the gift of intelligence and wisdom from our All Mighty Heavenly Father to experience, witness and overcome such a place of concerning levels of concern, unprofessional conduct, patient neglect, abuse, possible corruption, miss management, poor staff training and internal direction it's beyond belief. The so called safe soft segregation suites aren't safe and easily overcome by anybody with limited capacity and physical abilities it's a danger to both unfortunate residents and staff alike. I was able to cover both observation cameras arm myself with a deadly weapon available in the so called suite and disabled their shameful operation. They freely provide all the necessary requirements to enable any visitor to act as I decided to nip the operation in the bud, I believe I was given the opportunity to escape if I desired to overcome what should be a secure mental health institution, providing a poor level of care for people back into the community. I have hundreds of concerns about this place and it's out of sight operations, I'll be nipping this dodgy organisation which must cost an absolute fortune to the British taxpayer'sinto touch in the coming days. One star is beyond what should be stated
DO NOT USE THE WHITELEAF CMHT Took 6 months to get referred to the CMHT at Whiteleaf by the crisis team as they kept losing my referral, wait time was meant to be 4 weeks. Was under their care for less than 3 months, they tapered off my medication & said they would refer me to the Complex Needs team, who do group therapy primarily for people with personality disorders, not the issues I need addressing. They tried to deny that Dr Angus had suggested any alternative medications as "there are no medications to treat your condition", then backpedalled when I gave them the names of the alternative meds they had emailed me! 2 non-NHS mental health professionals told me that I potentially needed voluntary inpatient treatment, my care coordinator Tunde said he "is not aware of any inpatient treatment" for what I am going through, and ignored my request for information on both that subject or any other treatment options. They discharged me without my knowledge, before ensuring I would be accepted for treatment by the service they referred me for, never provided the alternative medications they proposed, and when told I couldn't keep myself safe until the referral to the other team was completed, they told me to use a list of non-NHS mental health services to "bridge the gap". Despite being told I have already contacted every organisation on the list and my partner was having to monitor me 24/7 to keep me safe, they told me they had "done their bit" and that they wouldn't keep repeating what they had said as "we have other things to do". Got told to get re-referred by my GP if I feel I need help, and then was hung up on! This led to me having to be restrained by a loved one to prevent me making an attempt on my life. Complete disregard for patient safety & wellbeing, staff often speak in a way that is rude and dismissive if they don't deem you "at risk", although what criteria they use is a mystery as telling them you will seriously hurt yourself with multiple past attempts at suicide & persistent self harm for the past 11 years is apparently not enough! Despite repeatedly telling different staff members I was unable to keep myself safe, they refused to help and have if anything, made my mental health far worse. Disgusted at the "care" I received, and will be making a formal complaint as this treatment will lead to patient deaths if it hasn't already.
I would recommend people to stay away from this place. I am a whisker away from ending it and not first time been referred to them and they are useless and rude, tell me they can’t help me wi to my condition and around a year for complex needs. I would not be surprised if this place attributed to suicides instead of helping and the place should be shut down. Someone needs to do something or will be more and more deaths instead of those getting help. Hopefully if those working there ever need help in life someone will tell them no and just get on with it.
