The White Horse Smokehouse and Grill in Steyning is a great pub / restaurant. Part of the Greene King chain a proud company with a 200 year strong history in the industry. The White Horse Smokehouse and Grill was a great choice of venue for my family to attend. We went to The White Horse Smokehouse and Grill as my mother lives close by and we thought it would be a great way to start the Christmas festivities. The venue is very nicely decorated and extremely welcoming. The staff where very polite and professional despite it being Christmas eve and they where working. I ordered two children’s meals and I found these to be a good size and cooked very well. Kids being kids wanted slightly different from the menu options. The staff where happy to make these changes for us with no fuss. The kids portions where slightly too big for my two daughters but by the looks on their faces they were annoyed they could not fit any more in. The adult food was equally cooked very well, we all ended up swapping bits of food as it all tasted so nice we wanted to get the most out of it. All in all I would highly recommend The White Horse Smokehouse and Grill is a great venue for food and drink. Aprox £20 per head for main and drink which I thought was very reasonable for the quality of the food alone. Keep up the amazing work!

As usual the staff and please are superb. We took friends there on Thursday and we all enjoyed the meal. The only downside was that we all had cold plates which meant the food cooled down too quickly. So we give it a 4 star.

Love the white horse. Comfortably stylish good beer and wine. Steph goes out of her way to make sure we're looked after. Definitely a five star for the roast dinner we go late on a Sunday afternoon as we work till 5. Always great. Thanks

Although a resident of Steyning for nearly four years now, we had not tried the White Horse due to several poor Google reviews. Recently when my in-laws were visiting we decided to go for lunch, at the White Horse as it is the nearest pub to where we live at around ten minutes walk. From the moment we entered the pub atmosphere was friendly and the staff attentive. We all ordered different meals and each upon arrival looked scrumptious, even better they all were cooked to perfection and tasted incredible. I had the liver and bacon and as is well known it can often be hit and miss with the liver overcooked and tough. However my liver and bacon at the White Horse was sublime, the dish had a twist to the traditional liver and bacon one might expect it was a complete surprise and by a huge margin exceeded my expectations, so much so that I can easily state that it was the best liver and bacon I have ever had. The other meals ordered by those accompanying me were of equal quality and whilst admittedly it is not the cheapest pub in Steyning to eat at, the quality of the food we received justified the price and then some. I appreciate that several other reviewers moaned about the prices and portions. The food we received no one left the table hungry and I have a healthy appetite. If you want bland pie and chips or Sausage and mash for around a fiver then you probably should look else where but if you are after delicious well cooked food that will cost more than five pounds then try the White Horse you will be impressed.

Top class Sunday roast and service in the restaurant. Great care and attention taken to customer experience. Meats, fish and cheese all sourced locally. Highly recommend, first class, child and dog friendly Sussex gastro pub in beautiful country village location.
