The hotel is located in between the castle and cathedral, so it's a just a stroll down steep hill to the town centre. The room was very big, with a separate area with a sofa and TV. The only criticism would be that the bathroom was rather dated. The breakfast was lovely, plenty of choice on the continental breakfast and the hot breakfast was cooked to order. The car park was closed for maintenance when we stayed, however the hotel refunded the pay and display we had to park in. Would definitely consider staying here again, next time we decided to stay in Lincoln.
Had a Christmas party here. For £40 the food 3 course meal very good value. The starter was very small, the main course was nicely cooked but the veg was served in a desert bowl for 3 people and only 1 sprout between 3, they are having a laugh. My pud cheese and biscuits were good but those who had Xmas pud the size was very small, not very good value. The room was comfortable but there was no heating on a cold December evening. The radiator didn't work even after I turned it up high. The furniture is tired with chips missing out of a lot of it. The location was brilliant looking out on Lincoln castle walls and the cathedral. The car part was good and secure. All in all I would go there again but for a posh hotel don't expect it to be the best.
Delicious food and drink. Nice staff. Great location and interior. Pleasant ambience. Not too loud, even on a Saturday at 4 pm. The decent choice on the menu was slightly let down by a lack of clarity as to whether items were vegetarian or vegan. Also, the triple-cooked chips probably weren't. But overall, a fantastic place.Service: 4/5
In need of total refurbishment. We had requested a quiet room but were allocated one close to air conditioning units. Additionally, the external fire escapes had strong lights that stayed on all night. However, a good location and enjoyable breakfast.Rooms: 3/5
We had our wedding reception at the White Hart and it was wonderful from start to finish. The venue was great, the food was delicious and the staff were outstanding. Helen has been great throughout and she has answered any queries we have put forward. Thank you so much for giving us such an amazing experience on our special day!Rooms: 5/5
The room was pretty good, although the bathroom was in need of a little refurbishment, everything was perfectly serviceable. Service was brilliant and the location was second to none, being between the cathedral and castle. A great old hotel for less than £90 for a night's b and b.Rooms: 4/5
Superficially a lovely looking hotel but not the cleanest, the breakfast was so-so some of the food was great, but the dishes were dirty and the poached eggs massively overdone, the room wasn't particularly clean and the shower was terrible. The locations is fantastic and good for a one-night stay in the city.
I went to the restaurant for my works Christmas do. Most of the food I ate was lovely, I had the salmon and then the chocolate torte. The veggies that accompanied the meal however were bland. As well as this the service left a little to be desired! We were told on arrival if we sat at the allocated table someone would come and take our drinks orders which never happened. The only people who got drinks were those who went up to the bar, which we had in fact been told not to do by the staff! As well as this my colleague had the gluten free Xmas meal which was just the Christmas dinner without the stuffing or pigs in blankets. There weren't any gluten free alternatives to these. Lots of my colleagues had the cheese board as dessert. They all received varying amounts of grapes on their plates some received none and they didn't get any knives for their cheese. We had to share out the knives of those who had been unable to attend
Sunday lunch yesterday was probably the best we have ever had! Service friendly, and quick. The food was devine - Roast beef pink, delicious and perfect crispy roast potatoes and yummy gravy. After a walk around the castle this was the best. Thank you!Service: 5/5
Lovely hotel ideally situated between the cathedral and the castle. Some of the decor was a bit tired and in need of a refresh but it was clean and well presented. My only criticism was that the menu was a little too over the top and restricted and I overheard several customers asking for adjustments to be made to their choices. Also there appeared to be a lot of new staff and so food order requests were not met. Breakfast was also a little disjointed with foodstuffs not being available and poor communication between staff for service. I know in the grand scheme of things these are only small issues but they do impact your stay. Would I recommend this hotel? Yes, definitely for its location and there are plenty of other places to dine out locally.
