I ordered a steak rare. This came back perfect. I have been to a few different places around Lincoln not been at the Poacher for years.. food was excellent it actually came to the table hot and you could feel the heat coming off the food. Everything was perfect even down to the price. Table service very informative and also knowledgeable which is a surprise. Clean and tidy and a good atmosphere.. I would recommend the food to anybody.. and like I said the price was very good
Fantastic night out with my family of 12 for a Christmas Fayre 3 course meal! The food was delicious, plentiful, tasty, hot and well… perfect!! Price was so affordable! And can I give a personal thank you and mention that ‘Shelley’ is a fantastic host, she made everything run smoothly! Enjoyed the night to it’s fullest!
Great food, in good portion sizes; it arrived quite quickly, and the staff are lovely. The kids pudding portions are huge, but we were able to help our 18 month old out! Really nice atmosphere in the pub generally.
First time I've been for a couple of years , through n after covid.. Always visited otherwise regularly , since the day it opened,... Oh Dear,...absolutely awful. Atmosphere, condition of the place and ordered a medium rare sirloin steak.. think i was given rump n well done n tough as shoe leather.. As we'd been to a funeral and were grabbing a quick evening meal , just ate what i could. All round, a disappointing visit and it needs a lot of effort n investment to bring it back to what it once was
The staff were very friendly and helpful. I asked on the booking for a quiet area for my grandparents which we got. We were near a speaker and asked for the music to be turned down so they could hear better and they quickly did it for us which was appreciated. Food was quick and good.
Came in for a meal the other day, food was amazing for pub food and it came out super fast. The waiter also was really friendly and approachable. Waiters name was Finlay. Would recommend :
Well priced affordable food… carvery was only warm not hot… gravy was only just above room temperature, didn’t have first two drink choices my partner wanted… probably wouldn’t return for the carvery
Greeted and seated by a lovely lady. She explained qr code system that worked perfectly. Food arrived within 20 minutes. Drinks did follow after the food but it was busy. Food was very good and tasty .
Completely messed up our food order and made me pay the difference. The nachos and loaded fries are not even on the menu as a starter, and yet somehow the bar staff assumed we ordered them as starters. I had to wait in the queue then he suggested we keep the now cold food and I pay an extra £7 for the kitchen to send out another portion. This was told to be "rushed" but currently has been 30 minutes and nothing. Will not be coming here again
Booked a table for my daughters birthday, when we arrived we were not shown to the table was just told its the round one in the corner. Felt right there and then that we were an inconvenience. Went to order food and again the 2 bar staff didn't seem as if they really wanted to be there. The food itself was very nice we just felt we just felt like the staff were very unhappy and un welcoming
