The only proper pub in town with public and lounge bars, dogs and family-friendly. Good outdoor seating and garden. Friendly staff and brilliant menu full of pub classics at proper prices, two specials boards offer exceptional daily seafood dishes and restaurant standard meat and vegetarian dishes all fairly priced. Tucked away in the cornmarket, the old town market place, this pub is a gem in a town full of 'contemporary' generic eateries that are in my opinion serving overpriced precooked blandness. So treat yourselves and give it a try.

Went for a meal recently with friends. Food was really good but the place does get busy at night. It is a really quaint old fashioned rural pub. Well worth a visit.

Had the wild mushroom risotto and have to say it was probably the best risotto I've ever eaten. Great little friendly unpretentious pub with really good staff. 10/10

Steak night.....good value for money. Friendly staff...always happy to oblige. Well worth a visit.

Best Sunday Roast in town. Great weekday lunch & evening meals offered. Also Lively Public Bar with friendly crowd. Live Music some weekends. Garden offers opportunity to enjoy a pint and enjoy the warm weather.
