Lovely service this evening, celebrating my sisters birthday. A little wait on food which we were told about when given the menus, and Sophie made a great suggestion for mains where I was being indecisive.nHighly recommend the mushroom taco to start and the fish pie was superb.nServed by Sophie and Georgia, both very friendly and attentive - thank you for a great evening!
Alright - let’s preface all this by saying “Friday night at 19:30, table for 7.”nnSo it’s about as busy as it gets.nnI’ll also say right at the start that our waitress Georgia was superb - helpful, engaged and friendly. Taking her job seriously and doing it very, very well. Someone give this lady a raise.nnThe quality of the food when it arrived with OK but no more than that - imagine 7 meals that are a few steps up the ladder from airline food. Lots of stuff microwaved from frozen, burgers that are about 30% gristle… It wasn’t stellar but that’s down to the company, not the staff preparing it. The prices are high as well; £19.00 for a burger is a bit steep, but it’s 2025….nnAdd that to the hour & half wait between being seated and food arriving, and you have a product that simply isn’t acceptable. Whether the pub doesn’t have the staff, or whether things aren’t organised properly behind the scenes, 90 minutes is too long to wait for food. But for Georgia keeping us posted whilst running about to other tables as well we would have walked out after an hour.nnSo - kudos to struggling staff, someone tell the owners that they need to up the quality of their food or lower their prices to match what they’re serving.
We had a lovely lunch here in front of the log burner on a cold day.nThe staff were exceptionally friendly. They all seemed very keen to make our stay very enjoyable.nI had gammon shank - yummy!
We have just had a really lovely meal at the olive branch. It's a good, varied menu, good portion sizes and reasonable value. Our waitress, Jazzy, was particularly good. Very refreshing to be served by someone who interacts with you and genuinely seems to be enjoying their job! Top job all round.
Came here for coffee one morning and ended up staying for lunch. Great gluten free menu for my mum, she had lovely chicken and bacon sandwich with fries. I enjoy a lovely coronation chicken sandwich with fries. Nice staff looked after us and fir week day during half term it was nicely busy but not rammed. Would recommend
