We were here by recommendation in early August and it was amazing. Super friendly service and cozy place. I had the full rack of ribs while the wife had a the yummy fish soup. The ribs were so good that my 8 year old son ate half of my rack instead of his own dish. It’s so hard to get a good ribs in Australia. There are famous restaurants that are well known for it, but IMHO they suck and the meat smells. The White Dog does absolutely wonderful ribs!!! If only you weren’t that far, I’d come every week!
A classic country pub that looks the part inside and out with a great log fire. Of course now a food destination. Had a really very good Sunday lunch selected from a menu with plenty of choice from old favourites to modern influences. Good service at a good pace despite being busy. Overall I'd thoroughly recommend it.Service: 4/5
We had an amazing meal for 13 people here this evening for a 70th birthday. All the food had been cooked to perfection, served hot and to a high quality all together! The servers were all very polite and tended to all the possible needs of 13 people, whilst having a friendly and tentative nature to their approach. We were VERY happy with our evening at this quaint and warming pub
My wife and I have just returned from a fantastic Sunday dinner at this lovely pub. Tempting choices of home made dishes certainly did not disappoint. Busy, team of attentive and helpful young ladies looking after the guests. Idyllic venue made more lovely by the heavy snow that we drove home in. Highly recommend.
Have visited twice. Best food I've had for years. Both times I've indulged in 3 courses over a long weekend lunch. Great pride in local ingredients, excellent food with a proper well kept pub atmosphere. Tables outside at the front opposite beautiful church and great lawned garden at the back as well.
Sat outside in open garden area with view. Had ham egg and amazing home cut chips . Friend had the burger. All food cooked well and presented well. Order at bar. Delivery to table.friendly staff. Service charge included. One star less just for the small car parking area, but can park along lane.
I worked with Harriet at a wedding last week. She was totally organised, incredibly friendly, and thoroughly professional - we teamed up to ensure the ceremony went to plan and it was a dream! Great venue for a wedding, amazing views and great set up. Private bar, loo's and area for the wedding party. Plus some lovely bedroomsRooms: 5/5
I used to love this pub but it's had a 'makeover' recently. Though the menu reads well, the food is now fairly standard pub fare. But what's really sad is that the old traditional feel has been home-decorated out of the pub's interior. Its all duck-egged tweeness, and the migraine-inducing fairy lights are more reminiscent of Santa's grotto on acid than a lovely old English pub. Real shame. But it was really busy and bustling - so maybe the owners are tapping into what people want nowadays. Not for me anymore though sadly.
Lovely atmosphere, pub side small but cosy. Restaurant side fairly comfortable. Had a bit of confusion over order but staff dealt with it well. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals although my pork fell short - very fatty, more fat than pork & had been let dry out. I think I was just unlucky as someone else's in party was perfect. Would definitely go back again
The food was superb. Friendly and welcoming. Service was a little slow but well worth waiting. Dog friendly.
