A Wetherspoons with a lot of character!

Story

The Wheatsheaf has been a local landmark since at least 1818, when it was Stoke's leading coaching inn.

By 1834, the thrice-weekly coach, which ran between Newcastle-under-Lyme and Derby, called at The Wheatsheaf. After the opening of the railway, there were omnibuses from The Wheatsheaf to meet each train at the station. By then, however, the arrival of the railway had signalled the end of the coaching era.

The Wheatsheaf has been a Wetherspoons pub for over 12 years now and we specialise in Real Ale (Cask Marque accredited and Good Beer Guide since 2008 and Camra Pub of the Month in July 2010) offering a discount to CAMRA members on production of their membership card.

We also serve great food and have a wide range of drinks to choose from with fantastic offers on food and drink everyday!

Lovely little Wetherspoon’s pub in the centre of Stoke.nI was impressed with the bar service. Very quick and punctual.nAlthough busy. The staff were exceptional. Constantly removing empty glasses and wiping down the tables.nnWould highly recommend visiting
No parking but car parks are nearby. I've never had a bad meal at spoons yet, you know what you are getting with them. Always have small fish and chips and it's always nice, service is always even when busy, only downside wirh spoons is that the tables aren't very clean. I Never go on a Saturday as too busy for me
Ordered a large breakfast came with no sausage, Let the bar staff know took untill we had finished breakfast for the replacement to arrive. Was not busy at the time really poor service unfortunately this day.

One of the restaurants I like to visit in the UK is the Wetherspoon chain. Delicious food at good prices. This time I wanted to try the Katsu Grilled Chiken Curry. A simple dish but full of flavor, low in calories but enough to be satisfied. The presentation is appetizing: Grilled chicken breast slices on a bed of rice, accompanied by parsley and a few pieces of chili pepper. Tucked in a delicious curry sauce. An indü taste well achieved. I recommend this delicious dish if you like to try new flavors.
