Went for tea the night before flying. The steak came out like this, it not only smelled burnt but it also tasted burnt, there was no taste of steak only the overwhelming taste of it being burnt was masking the taste. The check back arrived a long time after so I was sat a while waiting to be asked. Whilst the server was in the kitchen for a while she sent someone over to talk to me, the manager said if I ordered another one it would be exactly the same as it was cooked on a char grill. I said I know what a char grill is and that is burnt. I ended up having a carvery. There was obviously old food debris stuck to the grill to give thick burn marks like that. Very disappointing.
We are regular customers and visit twice weekly. It's been our favourite place to go. Up until today everything has been spot on. Great staff, great food, quick seating and service with a smile. Today we went for tea as we were late from work. We waited at the desk to be seated for 15 minutes. We then decided to go and find a table as nobody came to seat us. Every available table was covered in plates and glasses a few had reserved on them. I gathered there must be minimal staff. We asked at the bar to be seated and quickly found a reserved table. New menu operating so we took a look. Not much had changed so we thought. We ordered the chicken medley and ultimate chicken combo with extra steak. When the chicken medley arrived it was a chicken escalope with the peppercorn sauce dolloped on top with 4 garlic mushrooms dumped on the top and chips on the side. My combo arrived and we quickly realised the meal was wrong. So we asked for the corn on the cob, coleslaw and salad which it always has had. No we no longer serve corn on the cob and no longer have side salad. The plate looked a box meal from KFC. Dry, unappetising, bland. The whole plate looked beige. My combo also had no salad no coleslaw. Upon checking the new menu we realised everything has now been removed. I don't have an issue paying for a side salad but the majority of meals always had a side salad. A lady ordered burger and chips and sent that back because it was so bare and unexpected. It had ruined our meal and think we will go elsewhere now as your prices are still the same but minimising the dishes your serving. The chicken was so hard you could bang it on the table. You couldn't cut through it and it was only a goujon. I'm shocked how bad the service and food has declined in a week. Also you only had 4 desserts available at 6pm on a Friday. I'm not sure why you would ruin a perfectly good menu. Your a prime location for the airport, metro customers and Premier Inn. Maybe that is the issue. You are fully booked so stuff the rest of your bread and butter customers. Don't be greedy because it's the bread and butter that look after you when your hotel is empty ! We also have family who visit regularly and will be informing them of the reduced menu. Will be trying Twin Farms in future. Prices may be a couple of pound dearer but at least we get fresh salad and vegetables served.
Haven't been in this pub for ages, it was just a pub now extended to include a Premier Inn at the back. Very popular late afternoon for the carvery a lot of tables reserved. Loads of space inside, and outdoor seating. Large carpark, wheelchair accessible, kid friendly. Very friendly helpful staff.Service: 5/5
Food was lovely. We were greeted with a friendly smile and seated as soon as we arrived. There was an error made with one of our drinks and they happily changed my order and sorted the difference. Lovely service and food and drink.Food: 4/5
All of the staff are so lovely, the carvery is absolutely beautiful. Mashed potatoes so soft and buttery, tried a few things on the menu and it’s all really yummy. The staff in particular i’d like to give a massive shout out too is CHLOE D & PAIGE. The two most lushest lasses, they were so so busy at the bar, running around giving kids ice cream and making peoples drinks. They apologised for the wait and were so lovely, helped us, got us served quickly & politely and even came over and dropped our drinks at our table. Great staff. Lovely place!
Stopped off here for a drink and a meal on route to the airport and was very impressed with everything. Would definitely recommend.Food: 5/5
Came with wife and 2 kids. All had carvery. The meat portions were impressive. The vegetables and potatoes cooked perfectly. The service at the bar was quick and cleared the tables efficiently. The kids had ice cream and enjoyed every mouthful. Highly recommended place!Food: 5/5
First time visiting here but been to other chains. Was welcomed speedily and shown a table. Clean and spacious - not all squashed beside other customers. Explained promptly what we could do to order. Ordered via the app and it was easy and smooth. Drinks were brought over fast. Attended the carvery and didn’t have to wait long. Good options of food available, still piping hot and tasty. Friendly environment and staff!
Fab food and fab service.. thanks for looking after us Heather and Craig! Will definitely be back : xFood: 5/5
Dropped in for a quick bite and so glad we did. The service was excellent and the food was fabulous. We had chicken wings and cauliflower wings to start, the chicken was incredibly tender and just fell off the bone. For mains we had a Yorkshire beef wrap and the sirloin. The wrap really hit the spot but the highlight was the steak, nice and thick and cooked to perfection. Couldn't resist taking a few bits of cake home and they even provided a takeaway box and extra gravy for the reminder of the wrap that my wife could quite finish. Will definitely be back as was probably the best meal we've had in months. Much appreciated and please pass my compliments on to your chef, especially for the steak Parking: Right outside, plenty of spaces
