Amazing! Every little detail and the staff and the rooms and the food are just lovely!! The scallops and the seabass were superb!!! We stayed the night and then just had to return the next night!! Also.... towel heaters and robes in the room? Heaven. The rooms are so pretty and quiet!! A gem!!!!!
Held my fathers 80th birthday party here. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was delicious, especially the Halibut. Rooms were nice and cosy with large en-suite showers. The pub is dog friendly and there’s a lovely atmosphere especially when sitting by the fire near the bar. Highly recommended.
A little on the rude side! Food stop being served at 3pm however still food was coming out until 4pm! We asked if they could do some bread or starters as we saw that was just served to the table next to us… looked lovely! £5 later and two extremely small slices begrudgingly served to us… we were left very disappointed! Such a shame as we like to walk to this pub often. From now on I think we will stick to the packhorse…
Beautiful country pub. Friendly staff. Very dog friendly, lots of happy dogs about. My friend and I really enjoyed the food; chicken schnitzel followed by sticky toffee pudding for me, and chickpea burger followed by affogatto for her. Absolutely delicious; the schnitzel was beautifully crisp outside with tender chicken inside, and the sticky toffee pud sponge was light yet rich, with a lovely caramelised banana accompanying it. My friend is Italian and she raved about the affogatto, declaring it one of the best she's ever had!
Loved the country pub was my first visit but won't be the last. Great outdoor seating, cosy in side. We went on a Tuesday and it steak night and it Wass amazing and well priced as get bottle of wine with it too. Must visit placeFood: 5/5
This is a wonderful gastro pub stuck away in the countryside well worth the off road trip to gey there. In summer the huge garden is awash with colour and beauty. In the winter it's a cosy oasis. Food is top end Gastro and the service is impeccable. These are people who know how to run a pub.Food: 5/5
I had never been before, but we had our work's Christmas Meal here and it was fantastic. There's nothing I didn't like or enjoy so I would definitely recommend it, there are beautiful walks you can do in the area as well. Vegetarian options: There's a good selection to choose from Kid-friendliness: Very friendly to everyone Parking: They have their own car park for a good 25-30 cars. Wheelchair accessibility: There's a ramp leading from the car park to the pub. Dietary restrictions: They catered for everyone including Vegan, Gluten free all you had to do is ask.
It's pretty much the perfect lunch spot. Especially on a week day when kids are at school. Very relaxed, excellent food, interesting wines, sunny terrace.
What a great pub. Stayed overnight for one night. Beautiful setting. Great food and beer. My room was fantastic ...stayed in ' the Wendy house', emperor bed, large room with a sofa and a large ensuite. Table and chairs outside the room. I could go on...hard to fault! The staff were brilliant and the locals really sociable. Hats off to everyone at the establishment. Thank you
Always a delightful spot after a good walk. Good food, great atmosphere and a warm welcome.
