The Wharf
"The Wharf, in the heart of canal basin in Castlefield, Manchester, is a large warehouse-style building, but there are innumerable nooks and crannies so you can find cosy, intimate rooms and alcoves, or more buzzy, dynamic areas if you prefer. Downstairs is more pub service in style, whereas upstairs is more restauranty with full table service."

Loved this place. Beautiful pub right by the water, with parking! We went for Sunday lunch and it was delicious. Staff friendly and attentive. Prices were reasonable, especially considering where it is. We'll be back Parking: Small number of spaces, free
An upscale, beautiful pub but without the upscale prices. Huge, rustic yet modern space indoors with a large outdoor patio overlooking the canals and development around them. Lovely area to walk around in the evening. Plenty of draft beer to choose from and several cask ale options. Menu is extensive with both traditional and seasonal options. I had a few truly delicious spring dishes. Service was friendly and attentive. A top notch modern pub!
Food was amazing, staff was attentive by how busy it was! Would definitely recommend! However when we turned up, the security said we are closed probably because it was packed we had a booking so were let in! Would definitely recommend booking for food especially on a weekend!
Beautiful dishes cooked to perfection. Atmosphere was chilled without too much heavy ambient music, easy to hear the rest of the diners without needing to shout. The staff were attentive without making you feel rushed. The venue was busy and clearly popular.Food: 5/5
On an unusually scorching hot day in Manchester, we found this wonderful oasis on the side of the canal. The garden was packed with people enjoying the chance to relax in the sunshine. Luckily, the lovely staff were able to find us a table upstairs and after our meal showed us out to a table on the balcony to enjoy our drinks and desserts. We had the roast, and it was delicious. We shared the huge cheeseboard overlooking the canal. With the surroundings, the weather, and the wonderfully friendly staff, it was an experience rather than just a meal. I can highly recommend.
from the moment we walked through the door, the staff were absolutely lovely. the guy that took us upstairs to our seats was super friendly, and the girl that was our server was also very friendly. the food was absolutely delicious! we got it within about 10 minutes of ordering, and it was absolutely perfect. depending on your appetite, the portion size might not be great for you but it worked well for us! i’m extremely fussy with meat but our beef honestly could not have been better. the atmosphere was great, everywhere was very clean, and despite it being a lovely warm day at 5pm it wasn’t too busy. we’ve definitely found our new favourite restaurant! 10/10, see you next week
Generous portions of delicious British food! I had a three-course meal but by the time I got to the dessert, I could barely eat a few spoonfuls! For starters, I had leek and potato soup with sourdough bread which was already a full meal on its own. My main was a steak, ale and mushroom pie with mash, greens and gravy, and it was honestly one of the best pies I'd had in the UK! For dessert - apple tarte tatin with vanilla ice cream. Reeeally sweet! The atmosphere is quite lively and there can be a queue at the bar but there's also table service so you don't have to wait. The Wharf is right next to the Castlefield canal and the views are lovely! I was part of a big group, but was able to pay separately via card. Vegetarian options: Vegetarian and vegan options available. Wheelchair accessibility: There are steps at the patio where the main entrance is located and the toilets are on the upper floor.
Great food and fun atmosphere. Everything is A+ except the men’s bathroom. It’s like the patrons think the wall and floors have drains. Yuk!!! It smells and and you feel like you have to toss or at least wash your shoes afterwards.Food: 5/5
It was brilliant! I experienced great time in The Wharf! I’m from Japan and I’ve been studying English in Manchester but I’m going back to Japan. This Sunday roast is my last time. I definitely think all staff members have amazing hospitality as well! It was very comfortable! Thank you very much!
Food: Had the Rosemary lamb pie, with a Guinness, was fantastic. Service: The waitress was pleasant and nice but the other staff felt quite ignorant/ignoring. Atmosphere: Very pleasant out side area and clean decore inside.
