This place never fails to amaze (apologies for not leaving a review 6 years ago). Beautiful fresh seafood dishes from the specials board, friendly, welcoming staff and very dog friendly. Sit outside in the sun with a pint of cider/beer and the day is pretty much perfect.

The West Bay Hotel has served this fishing port for the last two hundred years.  Its a great place for a rest, refreshment; indulge in the restaurant meals and simply relax.  Time spent in West Bay can be relaxing and entertaining.  Parking is available nearby so rest up and enjoy the occasion.

Good experience on the Saturday after a bit of a walk great service by young lady had sandwiches and Dorset gold.  Next day Sunday different story ordered drinks when i asked for lunch menu was told quite abruptly by man behing bar only Sunday roast lunches being served no apologies take it of leave it.

Birthday Lunch with friends, table booked for 12.45 but at 12.30 two of the specials were already 'off', the others didn't sound very exciting and the main menu very uninspired! We ended up having fish n chips or scampi......cold plates didn't help.  One of our party ordered 'cheesecake' for dessert, in a bowl came biscuit dust with a sickly marshmallow textured topping, no way could it be described as a baked or American style cheesecake. A complaint was made but the waitress just said she would tell the chef, no apology or offer of not paying for it......we won't be coming here again. Oh yes, there was also the unwellcoming atmosphere and no fire lit on a misserable day.
