We managed to get a last minute room here after having an unpleasant experience at another hotel nearby. The room was large and very clean, bed was very comfortable and the en-suite was extremely well equipped jacuzzi bath with a TV. The decor is very classical which we liked, the staff extremely helpful and friendly. The restaurant was also great, couldn't really fault anything.nnThe location is right in town, 20 minute walk from the Palmers Brewery tour, 5 minute walk to the beach and town.nnWould definitely stay again.
Visited on Valentines night for dinner so can't comment on rooms etc. But the food was delicious, throughly enjoyed my rib eye steak and the chips were some of the best I've had. Side dishes included were lovely too. All around great food, my partner and I said its the best we've had in a while. The service was great. Very friendly staff and didn't feel rushed considering we were one of the last tables left. Traditional decor but nice relaxed atmosphere.
Was there with my partner for the valentines menu. It was a delicious 3 course meal consisting of amazing food, all the food tasted brilliant and I thoroughly enjoyed every moment. Haddon house is in a truly beautiful location and I hope to see more opportunities like this valentines menu again.
Comfortable and warm. Building is looking a bit tired but they definitely making effort to stay on top of wear and tear. The best bit about Haddon House is its location. So very close to beach and cliffs. You really don't need to go anywhere else. Second best is it's menu. Fabulous food. Moderately priced but very well cooked. Suggest you check to see if you get window in room at time of booking as we didn't have any view through small frosted glass. However the room was big and beds lovely and soft. All in all a 3.5 star and with a little investment in decor should easily reach 4 star. Try the restaurant as they accept non-residents. It's a gem.
Whilst the cost was more than expected which didn't include breakfast, the food was gorgeous. The hotel could use some updating in places, but our room was spacious and very clean. Service was a bit hit and miss, often leaving us waiting for staff to finish chatting to each other. There were rumblings among the diners to this effect, those next to us at our first dinner complained all throughout the meal, basically sucking the very air from the room, but we persevered, returning to the hotel dining room for superb meals.
