Brilliant pub, definitely my favourite down west bay, really good food and lovely staff. Sunday carvery is amazing. Also has a Dart board and pool table with TVs showing sport occasionally in the sports side bar.
You can't book restaurant tables, but some people had.... You can't book bar tables, but they were reserved for the darts team. Food is great if you can find a table somehow. Staff mostly great. Not the cheapest, not extortionate.
Can't really comment on the rooms as we were stopping at Parkdean. We thought we would give it a try one night and ended up eating most nights there. Excellent food, good portions, hot and delicious. Staff were very attentive, friendly and nothing too much trouble. Very busy all the time which I'm not surprised about but they always went out of their way to accommodate 7 of us each night. Can't recommend this place enough, absolutely brilliant. If we are down Dorset way again we will definitely be returning to The George.
Felt £7 is rather steep for a pint of beer! Also a bit grubby, spider webs and flower pots filled with fag buts! At least the beer tasted nice
If I could give this place 0 stars I would. £15 for an average Sunday dinner which they don't put enough gravy on it, knowing that you are going to ask for more gravy and then rinse you an extra £1 for a thimble of gravy. Holiday makers are definitely classed as second class citizens.
